Trey Hendrickson Update
(8 hours ago)Clark W Griswold Wrote: I am certainly calm as this is not real life for us…just entertainment. Also, where did I say anything about free agents? Trey was their best outside FA signing but now they are waiting around on his extension as the price keeps going up - dumb.

True about the 2nd round picks but let me know how many first rounders have not signed yet? Since Stewart is the only one I would think that is a “Bengals thing”. And he’s a talent that everyone agrees needs to refine his game and get as many reps/practices as he can.
They just seem to always do this crap - $ comes first because they are a mom and pop store trying to use their same old business model to compete with Amazon and Wal Mart.

Perhaps you should expand your horizons..many NFL teams have crazy intense convoluted discussions with their top tier players..and many times it does not work out and players leave..its not a bengals thing..again..I would remind you that this cheap " mom and pop" just spent a zillion bucks on burrow..higgins and chase..and the hubbards, pratts snd others before that...you are factually incorrect...to this date stewart has not missed a single day of real training camp and not everyone agrees that he needs to refine anything..many have stated that he was one of the most athletic explosive players in the draft and the bengals got a steal.

This is just one of those things too silly to entertain. Maybe Trey should think of "forcing their hand".

If the Bengals have shown us one thing, it's that you don't force their hand, ask CP9.

They signed Tee and Chase and deserve credit for that, not some made-up "They were forced to".

Which means they pay higher for a player where they could have gotten cheaper the prior year.  It doesn’t take a Princeton educated lawyer to understand contracts do go up year over year.  Complete idiots

Just because they signed players that doesn't make them less cheap. The signed Burrow Chase and Tee in a way that used up more cap space percentage than it should have. They could have put 16m more in cap space and spent it like a normal NFL Franchise.

Signing players and filling out thr cap is an NFL Rule. They must spend 90% of thr cap space in a 3 year span. The issue is the Bengals do so with a few large contracts instead of manipulating the cap like every other franchise in the NFL. They are absolutely cheap and by far the smallest lowest paid front office etc.

So you weren't "just curious", you were just being willfully ignorant.

Trey is still under contract and has no leverage. He keeps sitting out and he'll be in breach of contract.

Actually I think everyone agrees on that. Even the people that were fans of his said he was very chaotic and didnt really have "pass rush moves". So yes he needs practice and time to develop a pass rush plan.

I
Regardless of opinion..regardless of how they do it..over the course of the past four years..the bengals are one if the best teams in the NFL...they sell out every home game..they are one of the top five teams in national viewership etc..And had it not been to a plethora of injuries to key players the past twobyears..including our starting quarterback..we most likely would have had additiinal super bowl runs......

If you think this team is so miserably run resulting in robust animosity then perhaps you should find another team to support..

Well using that logic Bengals are superstars for the Trey contract.

They could lock him in 2025, the franchise him in 2026 and 2027.

i guess Bengals should just Trey to play or get fined millions of dollars.

And as of today he has missed only a few practices without pads..without contact ....of tag football..I find it fascinating when posters always say " everyone" in an attempt to validate their own personal opinions.....but I do appreciate you spending countless hours in speaking to 1000s of scouts, college coaches and NFL ececutives throughout the country specific to stewart..interestingly..his head coach .. Elko?...after the draft..said he thiught stewart would be a top 5 pick

Our fans are too busy chastising the FO and forget the great extension the same FO signed Trey to in 2022. They have an extremely team friendly contract. Why do they have to do anything?

They complain if we sign them late, them cry when we sign them early. It is kind of comical watching them spin in circles.

He has zero pass rush moves and needs a LOT of work.

I wouldn't expect certain simpletons to understand things like this. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and they usually stink. In some cases, more than others.

In certain cases, all someone has is an opinion and it's always wrong.

Mainly, because that certain someone is a legitimate troll and just here to be contrary and stir up shit.

1000%..and dont forget the "Mike Brownis cheap" nonsense while conveniently forgetting he recently spent a zillion bucks on burrow, chase and higgins...and millions of bucks on new locker, weight and training rooms..

He could force their hand by sitting out all Training Camp

loooooooooooooooooooooooooool

So uh...as LL posted earlier, the Bengals are required to spend a minimum amount of cap money so excuse the hell out of me if i don't jump through hoops that they were able to sign 2 players that are arguably in the top 2 of their position and another guy because another player said he wouldn't sign without him, when they're NOT PAYING ANYONE ELSE big money.

You can twist and turn and manipulate shit in all kinds of ways. The fact of the matter is, you're still manipulating shit. Facts and verifiable, long-term evidence will ALWAYS spit in your face when you try to defend this front office with stupid opinions.
