I actually find it a little disappointing the first 7 on the list have a higher unpressured rating than Joe. I'm assuming injuries have something to do with it but, dang, Lamar Jackson is higher than Joe unpressured?

Impressive stat, especially some of the differences vs Burrow's smaller difference but not much real data behind the post. How does he define unpressured? more context would be better, i think a great stat would be ball release connected to it. What is the average ball release of these QBs unpressured vs pressured and what percentage of throws of QBs are pressured and unpressured. That would give more substance to this chart

More QB friendly offenses (especially Goff). I posted it a while back but the Bengals basically ask Burrow to play QB on “hard mode.”

That helped. Especially the play action passes stat and OL blocking stat.

Come on, bro. Do you even football? Pressures are a bit subjective but they're usually defined by the people that track the stat.

This is all likely very basic. Drop back, no one within X feet of you = upressured. Drop back, somone within X feet of you = pressured.

Don't worry, Lucas Patrick was added to the OL to save the day.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

You're kidding, right? Not everything can be judged objectively in a sport with so many moving parts.

When each player has a chip in his shoulder pads and they can measure the precise distance between players and then someone defines exactly what constitutes a pressure, across the board, then you can have your objectivity. Until then, you can subjectively calculate a pressure somewhat objectively by using the criteria established.

Time To Throw, which i think you were talking about, is already part of the equation that is used in some instances. TTT is subjective as well because sometimes the oline is going to break down and sometimes the QB is going to release quick or hold the ball a long time.

DISCLAIMER: I THINK JOE BURROW IS THE BEST QB IN THE NFL

Now:

How much of that does JB bring on himself? He's on record as stating he loves an empty set (no one helping the online block) and he's also stated not all sacks are back.

What he does is awesome, but he does nothing to avoid pressure, the does do a lot to avoid getting sacked relative to pressure such as moving in the pocket, circus throws, and the occasional scramble

This is a good question. Joe loves the pressure it seems, if he had a RB or H-back in the backfield with him more I think he would get
hit and pressured a lot less. I know our Guard play has been terrible, but always being in the Shotgun in empty sets sure puts a ton of
pressure on the OL as well as Joe.

Edit: Also, I might add that it sure helps that Joe doesn't fain from pressure and is the best QB in the NFL. Just saying these empty sets
and Shotgun make any OL worse than they would normally be.

Even the Eagles or Lions OL would be worse with Joe and his beloved empty sets and Shotgun sets all the time.

The definition of a pressure is, in and of itself, subjective. Specifically, this is subjective around the definition of a hurry.
"When the quarterback is forced to move or throw before they are ready, or throws the ball away to avoid a sack."
The subjective part is determining "before they are ready."

It's commonly debated in football circles, as some think it's just whenever a defender gets within X feet of the QB, could be when a defender gets by/beats the OL, etc.

Different QBs also are "hurried" differently based on their comfortability having a guy get close to them.

At the end of the day, if someone doesn't like that hurries are somewhat subjective, they probably shouldn't care about hurries at all. Just care about hits and sacks, as those are much more objective.
