I have zero sympathy for the native Americans.   They made bad deals and sold their land away for nothing.  The Spanish and Dutch colonists handled their colonies like you wish the British had done.    Those colonies are now central America.

Yeah why have sympathy for an entire culture being wiped out and raped by Christian Imperialism? It cuts into the time you get to spend on that high horse of yours.

I don't know if many here have, but being closer to D.C. you have a higher probability.....

It is disappointing that we broke some treaties that we agreed with the Indians.  They just got caught up not being able to battle away the diseases.   It was unfortunate but probably inevitable.

The disease problem is less of an issue for me.  That is a result of evolution.  Separate development of immune systems.

I plan on going to as many as possible this summer since it has been years. It's so true that when you live somewhere, you never go see the sites.

Yeah, it's been a while for the wife and I. We're planning a day trip up next week while work is slow and we can take some time off. Get on the Metro at Vienna and just ride into the city.
