Bengals request interviews with Josh McDaniels, Zac Taylor & Shane Waldron
If it was inside, there would be no reason for them to not go ahead and announce it, which leads me to think the first offer is going to someone still in the playoffs.....

Hope your right on this. Gives hope for the chances of Bieniemy or Taylor.

Yes, it would of already been announced, they aren't hiring from the inside thank God.

As another poster said it would be a ghost town at PBS if they did.

Or Richard or Monken, these are my 4 favorite candidates still. All have something a little special to them and have a knack for being creative. Bienemy loves being creative and ahead of the game, Taylor has been complimented greatly by McVay in the way he handles players, Richard is a great motivator and Monken has done well pretty much every where he has went including the NFL already.

Looks like McDaniels is turning down everybody now. Didn't see that coming (sarcasm).

The training, nutrition, medicine, fitness, playbooks and rules evolve. The athlete does not.

Kitchens is the front-runner in Cleveland.

Rumor is Kingsbury is still in NY talking through becoming the Jets coach. If that's the case I think we have a serious shot at landing one of our top guys.

Given that our next HC will likely be in his First HC job... How many of our interviews do you think are to help find his coordinators too.

Like Joseph for DC

Hue for OC

etc...

Assuming those all pan out, that leaves Arizona, Cincinnati, and Miami left with Bieniemy, Taylor, Waldron, Monken still on the board. Which would make an in-house hire all the more infuriating.
Everything in this post is my fault.

Well it wasn't the Jets, it was Arizona but Kingsbury has now taken one of the jobs. Jet's were in play for Beniemy so that is Still a factor.

We haven't heard of them requesting any new interviews so I think we have the pool to choose from (outside of the internal options).

I don't think any changed from last week to this week in terms of playoff team coaches that we wanted to talk to and waiting for their teams to be eliminated i.e. the Colts and Cowboys both won. I'd bet we don't hear anything until next week on that front.

Glamour boy Kingsbury would LOVE to be coaching in the Big Apple.

I hope they sign him.

PFT makes a good point about hiring a defensive minded coach.

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/01/08/lafleur-hire-leaves-mike-vrabel-without-an-offensive-coordinator/

The "in" thing of hiring OC's would mean the team may be left with losing their OC every year (if they are any good, but LaFleur didn't even have a good year as OC and he was still the first coach hired).

Interesting thought. For the sake of continuity (on offense), it may be best to hire a Offensive minded coach.

I guess this makes sense if you are losing your OC every year and especially now that it is a more Offensive minded game now. Get our offensive minded coach, let him pick his coaches is sounding like the best way to go even if i do like what Eberflus has done with the Colts.
