Epic win! But do we make a switch on the OL?

One thing I didn't understand in this game is when they abandoned the extra blocker plays?

It seemed like it was working and although it takes a potential offensive weapon off the field it still gave Burrow more time.

Just wondering...

There's no move to make.

From what we've seen in the second half of the season and 2 playoff games, the 5 best HEALTHY guys for each position are on the field.

They got us this far, and they need to get us 2 more wins.

If Reif can manage to come off IR, great. Otherwise, this is the hand we have to play,

And for the record, the TN defensive line is superior to those of KC and Buffalo, so there's that.

I'm sure Burrow could have done something on a few of the sacks, but mostly the line was just horrible. I saw, on one play, it looked like the guy was just running a drill. No attempt at blocking at all. Backpedal then stand there.

I know there has to be players who are higher and some that are lower, but where in the world do you get players who just backpedal and freeze? I mean, these guys had to be good in college or something right?

A couple might have been avoided like you said.

It's those snaps where the blitzer went completely unblocked there really wasn't much JB could do.

Prince froze a couple of times and Mixon flat out missed a block on one of the early sacks.

Adeniji was getting knocked on his butt.  Just flat out physically diminished.

I think Adeniji plays okay enough when he has 2 okay guys next to him as opposed to someone that’s probably worse than him. Is there any chance Rieff comes back?

Yeah, those empty sets were killing Burrow.

Still wonder why he likes them with fronts like that.

I think its because in theory he can see the sack coming and fumble less. Burrow to his credit doesnt get strip sacked alot. He sees most the sacks he takes

I know we want to steamroll Adeniji, rightfully so but the dude playing against him tonight is a beast. because there are studs all over Tenn line there was no help to be given. I almost wanted mixon to be sent to just blow up into the back of Adeniji

I.wish the ZT would have went to more 2 TEs sets
I mean that's why Sample was drafted was because
Of his blocking.
Or simply put Sample at a FB spot let him
Pick up any leakage.
I thought the downfield routes played a role
In the sacks.
Not enough drag , whip or quick slant routes
To get the ball out quicker
Titans dline is a chore for.any oline

. . . can give up an unofficial sack on a delay of game penalty AND another one on a Cincinnati time out. 9 official sacks, 11 unofficial.

Sorry to be a downer on an awesome day but that was a pathetic and disgusting display of O-line play. Even Jonah Williams looked like a Guard filling in at Tackle most of the time. Spain was pushed around all game . . . Simmons owned both of them and Jones also beat Spain on several plays. If Spain wants to come back to Cincinnati, he should be absolutely thrilled this wasn't his final game tape. Thanks to Simmons, this might have been Adeniji's worst game as a Bengal and Prince is, well . . . Prince. He didn't suck but he didn't stand out either. Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see Hopkins give up a sack but I slso didn't see him open holes. BUT . . . many teams have had poor performances against this defense.

They get an extra day to heal and work things out. No defense left in the AFC is as tough as Tennessee so maybe this will make them focus on plays that don't rely so much on having to give Joe a lot of time unless they have extra protection or TEs and RBs do more than just handcheck a defender on their way out to their route. Since this O-line is so suspect, I feel that Mixon and CJ should block for a full second longer at least since they are usually 4th or 5th option on plays where they stay in to block.

Part of this was that the Titans went completely against their tendencies. TEN was the least blitzing team in the league coming into the game and they sent a lot of extra blitzers, so I somewhat chalk this up to TEN doing something completely out of the ordinary and then not being used it it.

The other thing here people should understand, TEN does more simulated pressure into late rotations than anyone in the league. That takes longer to diagnose and so when combined with extra blitzers this was a perfect storm of shit to sort the out.

Sample at FB now would be a dead giveaway that its a pass.

Least we have plausible deniability when Perine and Mixon are the guys in the backfield

I notice we hardly have any outlet passes, even in on like 3 and 5, everyone is running 10 yards or more. That could help out a bad line. I think everyone knows this O-line is bad, and needs addressed.

We replace that side with two chairs. It can stop a blitz. See?

And I said this the other day : why is Perine used like a pass catching specialist ? But anyway, I’m on cloud nine over advancing , although the op is correct , albeit vs a monster of a front. Still bad oline play tho.

Instantly the Titans realized Simmons over Adeniji was a massive mismatch and they attacked it the entire game.
