Kamala Harris: Enjoy The Long Weekend

There we go back with the re-heated Regan era talking points.  If everyone in this country wants to be a welfare queen then let it sink and start over again. I've actually come to peace with this by convincing myself that I'd gladly pay higher taxes if it means lazy people aren't forced to be involved in the workforce. One less nincompoop I have to deal with.

The difference is Brad and a few others bring the right wing nonsense into this forum. No one brings the left wing nonsense here. In fact, most of the "leftists" here seem to agree that left twitter is really annoying and only hurts our legitimate causes.

I guess my question would be what defines "nonsense"?

As an example, if I say Biden was wrong to shut down the Keystone XL and also wrong to have waived sanctions on Nord Stream 2, is that "right wing nonsense."  Who decides that?

Those seem like logical talking points to me.  Maybe you should try saying that Biden is a pedophile who is making America into a giant joke because he said some girl looked grown up.

Quote:But ya, it's only the right that literally complains about anything nowadays.

It's subjective, but I think "complaining about anything" would be a good place to start. This thread is a really, really, really good example of that.

From the left, there are definitely examples. They just escape me for the moment. Probably some story that briefly goes viral because a couple hundred people on twitter said something a celebrity did was insensitive or something like that.

I'm not politically knowledgeable enough to know what the Reagan Era talking points are.  lol.

I'll keep pointing 'em out when you use them...but that requires you to have faith that I have any idea what I'm blathering on about.

The short of it is:

republicans love america, democrats are too busy trying to save the rest of the world at our expense
the evil countries laugh at democrats but are scared of and/or respect republicans
god is owned by the right wing
patriotism is owned by the right wing
a giant military can still count as small government
welfare is a big issue and republicans will make sure everyone who can work will work
republicans give a crap about abortion beyond election talking-points

That's how I see it, and it's too damn effective to be true in my mind. Reality is never as appealing as misdirection.

While I think anybody saying that would be a little creepy, it is a far cry from being a pedophile.  Do I think he made America look like a giant joke?  No.  Do I think some other leaders said wtf?  Sure, why not, it was a weird thing to say.

If my friend said that to me about some little girl I would be like wtf bro.

I'm giving you tips on how to sound more like an unhinged right-winger, as you asked.

To be fair, I think this can be applied to a lot politicians and a lot of talking points.  I really don't see it as a partisan issue.

The reality seems to be in the middle of a lot of that.

If you came out with those dumbed down talking points as a candidate I would be like huh.

I'm on a bit of a hyperbolic streak right now, but I dont think I'm too far off base with that stuff.

Brad let me start by saying that I do think some of your complaints can be petty. That being said, no matter what you post it will be compared to Trump, found to be not as bad, and written off.

At least the internet doesn't have to compare everyone to Hitler as much now.

At any rate, it's the old glass houses saying, or the remove the plank from thine own eye before pointing out the speck in other people's eyes thing, if the bible is more your speed.

This is also going to apply to democrats when they voted for a 78 year old Biden but insist a 78 year old Trump in 2024 is too old to be elected.  Age alone is off the table for critique for them for a while.

Never thought of it like that. A workplace with less lazy idiots? You may be on to something

The prez spoke at and helped organize an assault on our nations capital where people died and our elected officials were being hunted with the intent to hang. Yet here you are defending it spinning it and whataboutisming it comparing it to portland.

A direct attack to the heart of our country. And I say never forget 1/6 on Memorial Day and I am told it is stupid.

The power of the mighty echo chamber. I saw faux bragging about their ratings so I know the extremist right wing echo chamber is still going strong with the brain washing.

This was an attempted coup. The disgraced traitor and first national security advisor of the conman who received a pardon from the conman is still calling for a coup and the conman is still insisting he will be installed as prez.

You supporting his "policies" and pulling the wool over your eyes doesn't mean the attack never happened or that the conman and his pals are done because the coward republicans in power have done nothing about it.

Blah blah blah.  How many people died in the inner cities last weekend?  Hundreds, thousands?  In one weekend!!!!  How many kids?

One person died I believe and for some reason not much info on that.  Hmmm.

How many deaths because the woke pols nationwide wanted to ignore those idiot Antifa/BLM pieces of crap with their stupid rioting and looting and taking over parts of a city?

And I do like his policies.  And I like an America first agenda.  We do live in America, FYI.  It's ok to love your Country still and to want your elected officials to put it first.

Sorry bro, if the choice was 1 dead and a few hour scuffle at the Capital or months of Antifa/BLM loser BS death/destruction and terrorizing innocent people (that is still going on by the way) I know what i'm picking.

Ah. And what would your feelings be if those Copitol stormers had found Pence, or Pelosi, and dragged one of them out to kill them? Would you still say, well yeah, one should not do that, but it's only one life and what about the riots and the everyday crime??

Thing is, riots, crime and deaths are happening within democracies, and within every administration for that matter. Attempts to overturn elections, to keep an unelected person in power, however, aim at the heart of democracy itself. How is this not scary to you, and how is this downplaying an insurrection attempt - and one party being extremely uncritical of this attempt - not scary to everyone? The one reason I could see is how awful and incompetent this first try was planned and realised, but that really shoiuld not matter.

Lol

blah blah blah

you complained about whataboutisms then gave me this.

the capital got ran up in and a guillotine brought, people killed, and you dgaf because you like the guy's policies which are to lie about everything.... sounds great. tear down our democracy for a conman and act like a patriot. its the most confusing thing in the world to me outside of women.

There is nothing wrong with standard political differences and discussions. The strange worship of a conman POS who has a cult following and letting him push our democracy to the brink is something i will never understand.

His hate and division rallies will start soon. Where he gets on stage and complains about how shitty our country is. Should be reaaaally productive..
