Reds Sept 16th-27th . . . Last 10 games - The race to the playoffs or elimination

just gotta keep winning. Reds finish at the Twins and they have a major league best 21-5 record at home. That is one tough finish

Right now Washington beating Philly 5 to 1 in 4th. That could put Philly one more loss than Reds. Then a Reds win tonight would put Brewers one more loss than Reds. We add to it more drama. Gray tries to pitch tonight. Is his back OK or not. Does he hurt it more, or go on to be a great pitcher in play-offs. Reds say if he is OK no limit, if he is not a quick hook. A big move in a Play-Off Game. Are they rushing him ? It would be great to have Gray in World Series Hunt. STAY TUNED FOLKS, this is getting interesting.

This is huge.

Every year teams want to go with a shorter rotation in the playoffs, but they can't because their key starters have already logged 200+ innings.

This year we should be able to ride these guys hard in the postseason because their arms are still fresh.  they have pitched less than 1/2 of a season.

A win tonight would be a real shot in the arm towards playoffs. Come on Reds

and just as 1990 you can reinforce bullpen by moving Charlton and Jack Armstrong to bullpen in play-offs.....In 2020 it would be Mahle, Disco, Lorenzen as starters back to bullpen.   If you have 3 top Starters, sending 4 and 5 to the pen gives you a stronger pen....1995 when Reds moved that real good lefty starter to pen, David Wells.  3 Top Starters and a deep pen in play-offs is hard to beat.  You get 2 pitchers pitching like Koufax and Drysdale, forget about it.  World Series always comes down to a team with Hot Starters.   Gibson-Carlton.  McClain-Lolich, Seaver-Koosman. Johnson- Schilling, Scherzer-Strasburg....Bauer, Castillo, Gray could be tough.

Gray came back from injury and went deep in game giving up just 1 run. Here is why Reds are struggling. The bullpen blew the 2 to 1 lead and poor fielding added in, and no runs from all these Reds batters with .200 batting averages.

The Phillies lost 2 games and that helps.

Reds have 4 games left. They have to beat Brewers today on Wednesday. Bauer is slated to pitch on short rest. Reds bats need to wake up. Right now Reds have 1 more loss than Brewers and that drops Reds into 4th. Reds need win tonight to get back into 3rd.

Lets look to weekend as many cry Reds play Twins last 3 games.
but Brewers play Cardinals 4 games and it's time to root for Cardinals.
Phillies play Rays with AL best record 3 games after today with Nationals. They have dropped out of picture for now.
Giants are in good shape but they play 3 games with play-off Padres after today with Rockies.

So all these teams Reds in race with face play-off teams this weekend. Reds vs Twins, Brewers vs Cardinals, Phillies vs Rays, Giants vs Padres. Giants right now in good shape in 3rd, Phillies in bad shape in 3rd. It comes down to Reds or Brewers for 8th spot. TONIGHTS GAME IS FOR THE WHOLE SEASON. If Reds lose this series and fall 2 losses behind Brewers, they are cementing themselves into 4th place.

Reds control their own destiny today. A Reds win over Brewers today puts Reds in 3rd and in 8th play-off spot going into weekend

MUST WIN GAME FOR REDS TONIGHT. THIS ONE GAME IS PRETTY MUCH FOR LAST PLAY-OFF SPOT.

Well the same old problem cropped up. No home runs = very little to no runs at all.

Gotta keep praying the can keep the taters flying out.

Votto with a 1st inning 2 run homer. Let's hope they can add on to it or at least make it hold up this time.

Watching Bauer screaming after the strikeouts in the 6th reminded me of a post by an Indians fan showing Bauer in the stands watching The Indians one more time after the trade last year . . . "He's crazy, but I love him. Good luck in Cincy, Trevor!"
