Yes, that was the one "white" country your character included in his list of savage countries. Not surprised your character can't remember.
Don't you consider the U.S. at war? Or not "white" enough?

It was in Turkish airspace for 17 seconds, at top speed that means it covered about 8 miles of Turkish airspace. There was definitely no attempt of escort and claims of no warning. I cannot believe anyone would consider this anything other than an hostile act.
I wonder if the response would be different if it were a French plane that crossed their airspace for 17 seconds and then shot down outside their airspace? It could have been any Nationality as Turkey said they didn't identify the plane; yet some will suggest they knew it was a Military Bomber. They will even fix posts to make sure it is pointed out.

We wouldn't let Russia doing bombing runs In Mexico. We would be doing it. So that comparison isn't a good one . Why won't turkey bomb Isis and free Syrian army?
They also had a hotline with the Russians to alert them if there are any issues.
Turkey is buying oil from Isis and trying to protect the free Syrian army . That's why they have asked for a no fly zone in the area. Russia has Been wearing out all the oil Isis is delivering to turkey.

Russia, Syria, Iran don't want to destroy Isis right away until the free Syrian army is wiped. They are using Isis as a cover to wipe out the FSA.
Turkey doesn't want Isis or FSA hurt. They have interests in both.
France wants Isis dead, now working with Russia
USA, U.K., and others are protecting the FSA. And using Isis as a pawn to arm up and make sure the FSA overthrown Assad.
Russia will use this to fracture NATO. If NATO is to survive then they should expel Turkey. When they do not do this .... Russia will use this leverage to fracture more to their side. Putin's goal from the beginning was to blow up NATO which was formed to fight the soviets.

It appears you may have me confused with a "Putin lover". I've really never considered Muslim or Reagan in my assessment and there is absolutely no way I would be "high fiving" anyone if Russia shot a plane down form Japan or S. Korea.
I have considered the rules of war and a country that shoots your plane down for being in their airspace for 17 seconds (and perhaps shared the flight path with Alcon) is displaying a hostile act.
Your Texas hypothetical makes zero sense. I've already given you a more equivalent scenario of Russia skirting Alaska on their way to Canada.
What would be your course of action if a Russian aircraft entered our airspace (Alaskan) for 17 second on the way to Canada because Canadians admitted to bombing one of their commercial airliners and killing about 300 of their innocent citizens?

You could be constructive as use some of that military knowledge on the issue at hand. But maybe your character wasn't really in the military. Maybe you just played a lot of call of duty and was in the ROTC.
