2015: Legacy defining season for Bengals?
Posted by: Bengalholic - 09-10-2015, 11:57 AM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (40)

Paul Daugherty wrote an interesting article concerning the 'legacy' of this current Bengals team and how this season will define them. More specifically, he looks at the legacies of Marvin, Andy and Mike...

Bengals embark upon legacy season

So, what do you guys think? IMO, he summed up the expectations for this season with one question..."If not now, when?"

Bengals offense has some nice weapons
Posted by: BengalChris - 09-10-2015, 01:32 AM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (77)

I was checking out some fantasy football videos on NFL.com and the question someone asked was, Is Andy Dalton a viable 2nd QB in a 2 QB league. I expected a resounding No.

But the answer was "absolutely, look at all the weapons around Dalton."

AJ Green, Marvin Jones is back, Sanu, Eifert, Jeremy Hill and Bernard were all mentioned. Then there is Burkhead, Hewitt and Little off the bench, none of whom were mentioned.

Is any other QB surrounded by more? If so, who and what do they have?

Thoughts

BTW, I didn't draft Dalton, but I did snag Jeremy Hill early, Bengals D in the middle rounds and I got Marvin Jones with the very last pick.

  Prime Time Games
Posted by: reuben.ahmed - 09-10-2015, 12:23 AM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (34)

Every year we hope to improve on our deficiencies, or mask them. Some things I hope to see this year are a healthy Atkins, less fumbles from Hill, less tip interceptions from AJ, and less high throws from Andy (which seem to last almost a full half sometimes, until he calms down - he almost defines Jekyll and Hyde).

But the elephant in the room is the Bengals prime time performance, which we know is below average. I wish the Bengals had a good motivational speaker (someone other than Marvin) to amp them up, when under the spotlight - we can assume teams like NE and Pittsburgh will put on a show. From just a few locker interviews, it seems like Hill could take on that type of hype everyone up role at some point.

Does anyone suspect any corrections will be made for the suspicious prime time performances the Bengals have been having the past few years, or keep the elephant where it is? They have 4 again this year. Could it possibly just be coincidental that our prime time and playoff performances have been poor (outside of last year, where we were significantly depleted offensively). I'd hate to think the coaches think "it's just another game".

You know the game. You post an opinion, the person below you says whether they BUY it or don't (SELL) and then they post an opinion. Let's get started:

Bengals have the best defense in the AFC North.
