5 McCarron Highlights |

I still haven't had a chance to watch much of the replay from the game, but apparently AJ McCarron is making some noise.
Here are five highlights from the game on CincyJungle and even they acknowledge that there's no controversy, but it's good to see them talking him up.
He had a nice deep ball to Marvin Jones and a nice pass to Eifert, which you know I'm excited about utilizing him.
Like I said, no controversy, but it's good to know that we have insurance and possible future trade potential.

Would you want AJ McCarron to replace Andy Dalton as the Bengals starting QB right now if it meant the Bengals would go 4-12 this season?

- This is part prediction, part wish-list. My biggest questions are about Greg Little and Margus Hunt. It came down to keeping some UDFA that won't (in my view) last on the PS who I think could help us during the season. Keep in mind, that I'm keeping Burfict and Ced U. on the PUP list. Injuries happen. We'll have room for them by the time they come back.
- Jones, Adam CB
- Kirkpatrick, Dre CB
- Dennard, Darqueze CB
- Hall, Leon CB/S
- Shaw, Josh CB
- Iloka, George S
- Nelson, Reggie S

- Johnson, Michael DE
- Clarke, Will DE
- Dunlap, Carlos DE
- Gilberry, Wallace DE/DT
- Atkins, Geno DT
- Peko, Domata DT
- Hardison, Marcus DT/DE
- Sims, Pat DT
- Williams, DeShawn DT – He's shown too much. He'll be a great backup for Geno. Kept him over Thompson
- Bodine, Russell C
- Boling, Clint G
- Hopkins, Trey G/C or TJ Johnson, Flip a coin
- Zeitler, Kevin G

SIGN AJ GREEN!!!!!!!! |

What's the hold up? This needs to be done ASAP.
With Dez Bryant signed, and now Julio Jones signed, the market has been set. And actually, I think he will come in a little lower than previously expected. I was pleasantly surprised to see those deals come in around a 14 mil average. Remember, that 3 years have passed since Calvin's deal, and he's upward of 20 mil per. I thought this new crop of deals would end up around 16-17 per. Again, I think 14 per is more than fair.
So what's the hold up? He's a free agent after this year. You've been "saving" for this deal literally his entire career (who does this?). That's all we've heard. That they can't spend now because this money is ear-marked for AJ, or that this "rollover" is for the AJ and Andy fund. Well, now the time has finally come and we're sitting with AJ playing on a 5th year option. Why?
Where is the urgency seen with Dalton? Dalton had not only another year left on his rookie deal, but we could have tagged him 2 additional years. He of course was signed after going into year 4. So why aren't we seeing that same urgency?
Let me ask you this, who has earned a new deal more: Andy Dalton or AJ Green? Who has proven to be more valuable at their respective position? Which total contract is cheaper.
I'm sure some of you will scoff at this, or shake it off as no big deal. But it doesn't make a lot of sense. I often asked "where the fire was" when they were in such a freaking hurry to get Andy locked up. I didn't get it. And I don't understand how they're not in the same rush to sign the player who you actually want long term.
Get it done!!! Now!!! The man deserves it. Pay the man his money !!! Since you've whined for years about not having money because of this upcoming free agency the least you can do is actually spend it when the time comes.
Oh, and if you actually buy the fact that AJ doesn't care, or that he has enough money, then I have some magic beans to sell you. Of course he cares, we're talking about 70 million dollars here. I for one what my star player happy. And I also want him locked up, the sooner the better.

This morning, the Bengals made the following roster moves to get down closer to the 75 man mark...
Waive:
DT Kwame Geathers
C/G Chris Jasperse
LB Nico Johnson
WR Desmond Lawrence
DE Sam Montgomery
TE John Peters
Release:
WR Denarius Moore
Source = https://twitter.com/Bengals/
I'm not surprised, just disappointed that Moore didn't stick.
He hasn't shown up over Tate, Little, or Kumerow.
I am also sad to see Nico Johnson go, but understand why. I expect the final LB spot comes down to Flowers and Carter (unless they go 7 LBs).

I mean, I'm all for the element of surprise, but that dude looked as good as advertised tonight. Like pro-bowl good (assuming he isn't injured during the course of the year).
In fact, I think our first game might be one where we're going to have to get it done through the air. I'm not saying give up on the run, but 60 yards on 20 carries from Hill may actually constitute a good night from the ground attack.

I was in Canada from Thursday until today, eh? I didn't get to see the game because they had two games, if that, up there, and the Bengals weren't on, eh?
Can people please give me highlights, who looked good, who looked bad, was it a good showing and a promising game?
I think I DVRed it and I'll try to watch at some point, but just don't know when I'll have time, eh?
