If I were to wager, I'd bet he's been offered help in the past; hell Housh talked about "helping him".
Sadly, sometimes they gotta hit rock bottom instead of always being enabled.
Not saying he doesn't need help but he may need to get it for himself.
yea wyche lost me with that one

Does Burton go down as the worst draft pick of the Taylor era?
I'm thinkin yes, at least so far.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs
Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.
Sorry for Party Rocking!

I'd say maybe get him psychological help first that the team pays for and see if he can come to his senses, but he definitely needs time away and to be disciplined.
Then again, if we don't release him, we'd be blasted by the media for signing criminals and not making them face consequences.
Would imagine team has been helping him all year

He might be on the spectrum. Yall should be ashamed of yourselves.
For what?? We're all fans of a football team, Burton is a football player. We all hoped that he would be able to improve the team. Now, that it's looking like he can't even conduct himself as an adult human being, he's really of no use to the team that we're all fans of. Spectrum, Pfft. you'd think that at a football factory like Alabama they would have already gotten him the help that he needed..
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Can't tell if this is sarcasm or not but I seriously doubt the team has been trying to help him.
Especially our front office seems like a hands-off organization that doesn't get involved much in the personal lives of players (besides for Devon Still, but that was a different circumstance).

Probably so for the issues that he showed but those were nickel and dime things seemingly compared to this.

Why is it on the team to help him? He's making his own choices, not the team. He doesn't show up to practices or even put in the effort to learn the playbook. He has given nothing to the team, why shouldn't they return the favor? I get that I sound cold hearted here, but when do we hold people accountable for their actions? Why isn't the NFLPA reaching out to help him? They benefit off his money more than what the Bengals benefit off their investment.

Cut 'em.
I've taken a few shots at the kid as the season has unfolded. Especially when it seemed to just be immaturity, but this is different. I'm also not specifically calling you out. I'm just using your post as an example.
One of my brothers put a .357 under chin/neck and pulled the trigger. He never was able to handle break-ups or traumatic life events very well. It was mental illness that our family chose to ignore until it was too late.
At this point, the kid is in definite dire need for some professional mental evaluation and counseling. Let's all maybe stop taking shots at him and hope/pray that he gets the help he needs. Human being first. Football should be in the back seat for him right now.

I'm sorry about your brother. That is tough. I lost a son, and the horror lies with me daily.

I think I need to go back and see who argued with me in his draft thread because I wanted nothing to do with him because he cloth-lined the female fan.
WTS, I pray he gets right
Yep, there were posters downplaying this. It was a shocking video to watch.

I meant counseling, not consoling, but I didn't notice the spelling error until after i posted .

Nah, still is Ryan Finley.
Not just drafted him (only 24 picks after Burton's pick), but used 3 draft picks to trade up and draft him. Then benched Andy Dalton on his birthday in order to start Finley. Only to find out Finley didn't even have an NFL-backup-caliber arm which seems like could have been known after seeing him throw once. He couldn't even stay in the NFL for the preseason after we cut him, let alone not hang onto a practice squad.

How do you know it's appreciated? You don't know what Burton thinks.
