Chase not Practicing

Chase is catching balls on the sidelines letting the young WR's work with Burrow.

Perhaps you are trying too hard lol

Of course I said "on the field". Why didn't he work with the young WRs during OTAs?

How unselfish of Chase to work on the sidelines and "let" the young WRs work w/ Joe in 100 degree weather.

Yep, I'm most likely the one trying too hard.

Weird that we don't have Boyd anymore, Chase isn't practicing, and yet James Rapien said that Burton isn't working with the 1s much. You'd expect more from a 3rd rounder who people said was a steal because he should have been drafted much higher.

Yep.  Wink

All I know is that we might actually come back and regret not paying Ja'Marr at this point in his career before he does become the best
WR in football. Going to have to pony up a lot more dough once he has the best season ever by a WR this year.

Jermaine Burton tweaked his ankle, it is the only reason he wasn't working with the 1's.

Boyd’s experience won’t be duplicated. But the position will result in more dynamic play because Chase, Isovias, and Gesicki are all going to play there. Boyd will be missed in the red zone but Gesicki is an assassin in the red zone. Burton will play outside when Chase is in the slot which will be often.
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

Both sides of this are frustrating too me.

Chase should be playing and getting ready to play and the FO needs to pay the man.

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

Typically first round receivers don’t get paid until after their 4th year, due to 5th year option. Waddle got paid this year, 3 year extension $84.75m, after 3 years.

Chase is probably wanting $35m a year, but he really doesn’t have all that much leverage. The bengals have two more years of control, plus any franchise tags they would likely use.

If I’m the bengals, I’m looking at waddles deal and saying, look Jamar we will do 3 year extension at $30m/year, now. Or we can wait, see how this year goes and then maybe you are at the four for $140m range.

I see both sides, especially with the waddle deal. I think Chase wants his cake and eat it too.

Just my $.02.

We had 2 years left and chose to pay Burrow I think Chase is 2nd best Bengal plus WR careers are shorter than QB's Chase is definitely a top 5 WR Joe was definitely a top 5 QB lots of similarities. Going into Burrow's contract and Chase at present Chase has had the slightly better start to each of their careers.

Yeah. I just get concerned because he's not getting into "football shape". Then the season is gonna be here and he's gonna have to go from 0 to 100 in a short time. I do think paying him ( which needs to be done ) might have a interesting dynamic/impact with Tee since we aren't giving him the contract. Still wouldn't be shocked if they traded Tee. Need to get the contract done with Chase the market is set. Shouldn't be that hard just do what needs done.

QBs and WRs are not the same. Many QBs get paid after 3 years, not so much for receivers. Devonta smith and waddle are more outliers than the norm.

Its all about the depth. It's not Burton's time. I am telling you right now that Yoshi is going to be a stud. Everyone is sky high on him at camp - players, coaches, media.

Burton won't see the field much this year.

Apples and oranges QB's to WR's or any other position. There's not another position in any team sport even close to what the importance of what a QB brings to the table.

Maybe my memory sucks (who am I kidding, it does), but I feel like Yoshi did more his rookie season than the esteemed Armon "Golden" Binns. At least TD-wise.

First 3 years only OBJ has more receiving TD's than Jamarr Chase who is currently playing only Jefferson has more yards and receptions if anyone has outplayed their rookie contract through first 3 seasons it would be Jamarr Chase he like Burrow is the kind of player to make an exception for

You went ahead and googled before you added that TD caveat to your post... Huh?

Spoiler alert for those who haven't looked into it. Armon Binns put up better numbers in 2012 than Iosivas did last year (with fewer TDs). Not much better, but it isn't a stretch to say they had very similar seasons. But yeah... Nothing is stopping Andre from building off his rookie year.

The difference is the raw athleticism that Yoshi has over Binns. Binns had a 6.2 RAS while Yoshi had a 9.9 which is elite (like top 14 WR all time elite). Binns was half the athlete that Yoshi is.

Pair that with his work ethic and improving upon his actual football ability, and the sky is the limit. Not to mention he's an Ivy Leaguer so he's gotta have at least some smarts to him.
