@Local12Skinny
tells us on
@ESPN1530
that he’s heard Ja’Marr Chase and his camp are looking for a 4-year deal in the $160 million range, with $120-ish million guaranteed from the #Bengals.

#Vikings WR Justin Jefferson got $110 million guaranteed in his extension.

espn.... Mellow

That sounds unrealistic, I am sure Ja'Marr would be just fine with what JJ got no problem and I bet he isn't asking for more as he is
not better than JJ right now. He will be I think though which is why if we have to pay about what JJ got, we should think about it IMO.

I'm starting to think that the FO is going to sign Tee and trade Chase in the offseason.

So watch the Bengals sign Chase with in the next week.

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

And given that the Bengals have him for two more years and then could use the franchise tag, I don't see what Chase's bargaining chip is right now. He's not going to play and give up millions for multiple years? I see the value for him getting a deal; I don't see the pressure on the Bengals to drive up a Brink's truck at this particular moment in time.

Have you tried demanding a massive pay increase from your employer?

Ja'Marr shouldnt get what Jefferson got because he is not as good as Jefferson.  40 million a year? Absolutely ridiculous.   If that's what he is demanding while sitting out, trade him.

Those dudes sound like idiots. Chase still has 2 years remaining on his original contract.

Minny didn't do it for Jefferson

Dallas didn't do it for Lamb

Miami isn't doing it for Waddle

But for some reason the Bengals should pay Chase after year 3.

Jaylen Waddle signed back in early June I think. Out of Ja'Marr Chase's draft class he is the only first round receiver not signed to a second contract. (Chase, Waddle, Smith, Toney, Bateman)
I have the Heart of a Lion! I also have a massive fine and a lifetime ban from the Pittsburgh Zoo...

Well would you look at that. I knew Devonta had signed but not about Waddle. I was 2 for 3 on my post,

Correct.

In his first offseason of extension eligibility, Jaylen Waddle signed a 3 year, $84.75M extension with the Miami Dolphins that keeps him under contract through 2028 at a total value of $104.6M.

If it is 4y 160m 120m guaranteed it's probabaly not the AAV holding it up but the guaranteed. That is around 75% total guaranteed? The highest they've ever done non-QB is Orlando Brown at 60% and that was a surprise.

I also don’t think using Lamb helps the argument for waiting. No reason to let things become that contentious here. Just get it done.

They need to get with the times on that front.

Personally not a fan of rewarding bad behavior. It's already contentious here and a year earlier.
