Chase not Practicing

I’d rather have great lines and a great defense to support Burrow than insanely expensive WRs. And we are usually pretty good at finding WR talent.

I love what both Chase and Higgins have done in their time here.  I just don't think that long term success with that model is sustainable over an elite qb's career.

KC stays elite without Tyreek because they have a world class TE and they're incredible at utilizing RBs and TEs.  Pacheco was what?  A 7th rounder?  They never pick high.  That's sustainable with a top end qb.  Having him surrounded with elite top dollar receivers is not.

Play hardball and pull the offer off of the table. If he holds out he loses the vested year on the contract. Put the money into Higgins instead, then let Chase play out the final two seasons with Higgins on a new deal.

Geez, Chase said he was playing with or without the extension.....

Tee “I went from best preseason ever to a shredded hammy in 24 hrs” Higgins? Nah. If you’re gonna do that, spend the money elsewhere.
If you see something suspicious, say something suspicious.

Ja"Marr: "L didn't ask for or demand a contract this off-season, the club approached me about getting a deal done"

Q1: "Well why didn't you do anything with the team until 4 days before kickoff?"

I'm glad to see him practicing and hope the dude puts up such numbers this year that paying him next off-season costs the Bengals big time. But that quote just seems weird.
Some have indicated the words allow you to change your perspective, I'm just curious as to how.

Following is a quote from an ESPN article today that clarifies his real intent:

"Chase said that he hadn't asked for a new deal and that the Bengals had told him before the offseason that they intended to extend his contract. However, he added that even if the team had not made that suggestion, he still would have sought an extension on a rookie deal that runs through the end of 2025."

Lol, I havent cared what you call anything in years.

"Even if I dont get a contract now, I will play", Chase.

If you actually watch the entire interview he contradicts himself a few times.  In my opinion I strongly believe he is playing on Sunday.

He’s going to play even if he’s pissed at the FO he’s not going to let his best mate on the team down when we will already be light.

I still think we see an announcement before the end of this Packers game tonight anyway.

imagine in some alternate world this is how chase and higgins are mad at burrow for taking all the money lol

Welp, looks like  we are about 29 minutes from Chase's deadline.  I want my season ticket money back.

I paid to see the last season of Burrow/Chase/Higgins.

I did not pay for shithead forfeit reality TV over millionaire anal inflammation.

Every game counts.  Home field matters.  I want an AFC title win in Cincinnati.  It's all I want.  That's it.  I want to know what that feels like.  I want to take my son to that game and have him remember it until his last day with me.

It might never happen.  That's fine.  So long as it goes down in good faith.

If this season gets torpedoed over goddamned money and butthurt "hold-ins", then I am done with NFL football.

It's a drain on my mental energy and a waste of my time and hard work.  I've never been less enthusiastic about a season than I am this year and it's 100 percent because of this contract horseshit.  I just don't have it in me anymore.  I work my ass off to provide.  I wanted to build memories with my son.  Now I have to explain why his favorite player may or may not show up for work on one of the 17 days a year that it actually matters.

I've met Tee and Ja'marr.  Both positive experiences after they had my hard-earned cash.  Smiles and pictures.  Now they shit on us and flush our season down the toilet.

Maybe these guys should try to remember who makes it possible for them to be millionaires.

I hope Iosivas, Irwin, Gesicki, Burton, and Charlie Jones look like the Patriots of the 2010s.  I hope that the bottom drops out of the receiver market.  I hope these assbags end up like running backs.  I hope Joey B looks like the 55m qb that he is behind the best OL he's ever had.

In short, I want Tee and Ja'marr to see an offense succeed in their absence.  Make them eat it.

At this point the Bengals need to tell Ja'Marr we will talk about the extension next year.  We dont need this to be a distraction while this season has started.  Ja'Marr still has 2 years left on his contract so no hurry to get it done this year.

He'll sit out half the year just like his pal Jefferson did.  One bump or bruise and he's done.

I think Burrow can do well with our other cast, but it won't matter much unless the old Lou Anarumo and Defense shows up. Our defense doesn't belong in this division lately. The other defenses are superbowl caliber. If only we had the Browns or steelers D, where it doesn't matter what we do on offense and still make the playoffs. Maybe no Tee and no Chase is a glimpse for us into how good Burrow is and what the future might look like - lol.

Jealousy in young people is a real thing, even in old people. A 24 year old is not going to like someone else producing or making it seem like they're not as needed. This was MIxon's problem for a long time, whenever our 2nd RB came in and rip off a 10 yarder, he seemed to run harder the rest of the game lol.

Jefferson did not have a bump or bruise, he actually was put on IR,  that is not even the players decision and the team must decide how extensive injury is  and in the offseason the team and Jefferson were working out a plan for his rehab.

I’ll catch heat for this. But burrow is not Mahomes. Mahomes does things burrow can’t. And Mahomes stays healthy. I love burrow. But I think Mahomes is already a top 3 QB of all time and might end up passing TB when it’s all done.

Has burrow ever showed he can win without top receivers? in college he won with Chase and JJ. NFL Chase and Higgins. I think QB’s need elite receivers. Unless your TB or Mahomes. I think that list ends there

At this point, of course Burrow is not Mahomes.   Have we ever seen Joe without elite WRs?  We haven't.

Assuming Joe can stay healthy I think he could win games with KC's receivers and oline.

I think everyone loves Burrow here but few of us would say he's better than Mahomes. The way Mahomes moves in the pocket and the angles of his throws, he is not the same as anyone else. We need rings before we have any comparison...but mahomes also has Andy Reid and we have Zac Taylor.

The question is if the QBs swapped teams, does Burrow win on KC and does Mahomes win on the Bengals?
