Cappa is gone!
(03-04-2025, 04:18 PM)Nepa Wrote: Bears gave up on a 6th to get a former Pro Bowl left guard, Jonah Jackson. I don't know how good Jackson has been since his 2021 Probowl campaign, but trading a draft pick to fill a need is something I hope the Bengals are exploring:

"The overhaul of the Bears' offensive line began just over a week before the start of the NFL's free agency period. The Bears are in the process of sending a 2025 sixth-round pick to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for guard Jonah Jackson, multiple sources told ESPN.

***
Jackson, 28, has started 61 games over five NFL seasons, which included a Pro Bowl campaign in 2021. He has predominantly played at left guard since being drafted by the Detroit Lions, where he played for new Bears coach Ben Johnson for three seasons."

I know we only have 6 picks, but adding a starter for a 6th rounder is a sound investment and we can still trade back to add another pick or two.

If the Bengals did something like this, I would be more than happy.

And now Chicago traded a 4th in 2026  for two-time All-Pro Guard Joe Thuney

Chiefs would almost certainly not help make Cincinnati, or most AFC teams, better.

Both very smart moves protecting their future, young QB.

A bit surprised, da Bears haven't been known to make great moves for a long time...

Yep, too bad, hopefully we can get someone from the NFC in a trade if it is the right fit.

The Chiefs, nor anybody in the Division will trade with us pretty sure of it.

Good for him, hopefully he gets back to what he once was for them except when playing us.

Always liked Alex. He just really fell off the last couple of years.

Looks like they could have traded Cappa if the FO had any once of savviness. He was clearly coveted.

Likely not at the salary he was being paid.

2 years $11.2.

Nah. Signing him off the street is a lot different than trading for him at that salary. They were also just at the combine so they would know how much interest there was.

Nobody in the NFL likes to trade with us every other owner hates our owner.

We might get a 6th or 7th for a guy but do not expect something that will greatly help the Bengals get better.

You are still acting like Mikey boy is running everything and he is the one everyone has to deal with.

All he does is sign off on what Katie, Duke and the rest of the family do or do not do.

Dude is nearly 90 years old.

Let's see what offer we get for a sack leader.

Im thinking we should get a 1st and 2nd possibly a 1st and 3rd depending how high each pick is.  You are talking about the NFL sack leader.  I dont think a single pick is worth it.

Yes, let's see before we condemn the new younger FO that brought us the guys for our SB run eh?

Should get some good picks if we take a trade. No point in crying now unless you wanted us to pay Trey Mad Maxx money...
