Bengals Front Office Needs To Get With It.

Yeah, they invested in a 3rd round rookie who could be a promising prospect, and a 5th round guy with a nice upside and an injury list longer than most veterans of foreign wars. Oh, let's not forget that they also hired some has-been/never-was to be the insurance policy if their rookie gambles don't pan out. Looking more like the interior DL situation from last year, rather than "We've made significant upgrades in the position group that finished 31 out of 32 teams last year"...

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

I think the defense plays into the protection aspect as well, though. If they cannot stop anyone or hold a lead, it’s just more that Joe has to drop back and try to win the game. And even great offensive lines have trouble protecting when the defense knows that pass after pass is coming.

I know burrow is great against the blitz and the rush but I still do not fully trust our offensive line, so it’d be really helpful to have a defense that could allow our offense to sit on a lead and spend more time running the football and controlling the clock.

This is an outside rating. This isn't about fan speculation. My opinion is they didnt do enough because they could've done more it's that simple.

I'm not sure that this is the right place to post this but the Bengals could have signed Tevin Jenkins + Levi Onwuzurike for under the cap number of BJ Hill.

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

Lol @ a ton of really good players on final cuts. Every year people say this and it never seems to be the case. Zeitler would've been who I wanted he signed a 1 year deal for 9 mil. We could've had him and had the feel good end your career here story and hes playing a whole lot better than what we have had.

I was surprised at the BJ Hill signing and number. I like him but I thought we might have moved on and upgraded elsewhere.

Its not so much about BJ ( Although, yes I agree we could have upgraded the position)! My point is more about the fact they could have added two key contributors at two position of weaknesses for hardly nothing and chose not to.

Their starting LT will be back...Their starting Rt has a year under his belt..You may not like Fairchild but most feel that he has the potential to be a solid Guard.Interestingly..and dont let facts bite you in the butt..this offense last year was one of the best in the league with the offensive linemen they had..And let us not forget they made a significant coaching change immediately when the season ended..

"What we have had" contributed to one of the best offenses in the league last year..You wanted Zeitler..team did not

I never said that I didn't like Fairchild. I said he's a 3rd round rookie who could be a promising prospect. Even if he shows up and plays well from day 1, he's still going to be an NFL rookie, and willey veterans will figure out how to exploit him a time or two at opportune moments.

The team ( The FO ) wanted someone who would take backup level money so they signed a backup level player coming off an ACL injury. They value money over winning.

Anyone who thinks "the team" wanting this guy or not wanting that guy, makes them right, needs to pull his head out of his ass because the team also wanted Carman, Jordan, Price and Volson and they all sucked.

GTFO with that stupid line of thinking.

Yeah, why would the team want him. Ninja

I mean, when you have the chance to sign a stud like Lucas Patrick you DO IT. Ninja

I really wish they had someone other than Cam Grandy and Andrei Iosivas to create 7 man blocking surfaces. I think Iosivas could really be a big factor in that area this year but Grandy doesn't tie the rushing and passing offense together like Erick All. Also don't like that Sample and Gesicki's lack of versatility limits the offense in 11 personnel.
