Bunch of guys throwing up and multiple guys calling practice short because of cramping.
Just use the damn bubble.
Seems like they are out of shape. I am not a professional athlete, but I run every day outside in the middle of the heat. 39 years old. Runs this week have been 3-10 miles. Yesterday was a sub 22:30 5k at 91 degrees.
Stretch, hydrate, nutrition.
Practice hard in bad conditions, play better in easier conditions.
Am I going to run a marathon this month… no. But I have definitely adjusted to the heat over the last 45 days.

Good chance week 1 will be 85 to 90 in Cleveland. As visitors, we will have full exposure to the sun. They need to get used to the heat. Now do they everyday, probably not but to keep them in bubble wrap is also not teh asnwer in my humble opinion.

He threw to him down the sideline last season as well, in fact Burton caught a pass or two in the preseason. How'd the rest of it go?

Si Myles Murphy is still fat and Tee has issues with his legs. All thats changed is that now Murphy is now our #1 d end and we owe Tee more than we owe almost all of the defense.

Apparently Murphy did have 80 pressures, ranking 87th out of 211 DEs last season.

Acclimatization.
They aren’t acclimatized to the heat and humidity on Day 2 of camp and they are having heat injuries as a result.
Let them get acclimatized to practicing first. Then transition to the heat and humidity during the second week. Cut down on heat injuries and players missing practice reps as a result.

I think that is a great plan for high school athletes. Pro athletes whose job is to come into camp in shape no so much. If they are not fit, they are already way behind.

He had 20 not 80! Trey had 83 and was tied for first with Myles Garrett!

This is naive. Even veterans try to avoid training camp because they aren’t at home simulating camp practices. That doesn’t mean they aren’t staying in shape.
And how many times have “pro” athletes acted unprofessionally?
Two heat injuries, that we know of, this soon proves your hypothesis wrong.
It’s like claiming altitude should have no impact on pro athletes because they’re paid to be in shape which is simply not true.
Sports science has evolved since the 1960s.

Right.
2 days ago “We want Zac to run a harder camp”
Day 2 “this is too hard, go to the bubble”.
Which is it.

100%
Black sheep may be an awesome training facility. But you are not doing yourself any favors for heat adjustments.
I’m sure some of them were doing outdoor cardio, but it s likely obvious who wasn’t.

Excuse me.
I didn't know what I was reading. Not sure how I misread that on PFF.

Altitude does have an impact which is why Denver has the home field advantage. If you know you will be playing in 90 degree weather, and practicing in 90 degree weather… you better be ready for 90 degree weather.
If I was starting a marathon training program, in Arizona, for a marathon in Arizona, I better have a good baseline of heat acclimation before showing up. If all I did was run on a treadmill to get there, I’m literally not ready at all. I would have to go backwards to go forwards.
This is why you typically want to be able to run 10+ miles, before starting a 12-16 week training program.

For the record, I have never said Yoshi was the best 3rd WR, I am saying he is as good or better than most production wise in my opinion.
Yes, he definitely needs to imorove the drops.
I am excited about Yoshi as he enters his 3rd year, improved each year, gained 15 pounds from last year, yes has to improve on his drop rate for sure but interesting where he does not have to improve on but Chase and Higgins do is red zone td catch percentage. Chase just 38%, Higgins 50% and Yoshi was 80% last year... he was a red zone machine, actually his career he is 90% target to red zone td, wow

The heat index in Cincy is 105 degrees today. it's not a matter of "being fit".

Long story short, if the pass attempts are there, the production can be as well. I guess iosivas is fine as a 3, I suppose. But really the WR room
Behind Chase and Higgins is still very unproven.
Jermaine Burton was our 4th leading receiver on the year with barely over 100 yards. No other receiver had over 15. That’s with tee missing some games. To say it’s a strong room, is not looking at the whole picture.
Gesicki had 65.
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

Are you predicting the score, or...?
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs
Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.
Sorry for Party Rocking!

Yes it does.
Yes, training in heat can improve performance, particularly in endurance sports and for athletes competing in warm climates. Heat training, also known as heat acclimation, involves exposing the body to elevated temperatures to induce physiological adaptations that enhance the body's ability to cope with heat stress and improve performance in both hot and cooler conditions.
If they were not prepared for this prior to camp, it’s on them. Camp shouldn’t be used for heat acclimation, that should have been done so they could be ready day 1 to focus on football.
I do this and I do not get paid millions of dollars.

Current temperature in Phoenix, AZ is 102 F. Are you running a marathon in 102 F heat on Day 2 of your training? Of course not. You should increase your workload and exposure to environmental conditions the same as you would increase your mileage. The Bengals have all of camp and the preseason to acclimate.
I can tell you from experience, 102 F in AZ with 8% humidity feels a lot more tolerable than lower temps with the higher humidity of the Ohio River valley.
I can also tell from this conversation who has deployed to deserts or near the equator and who hasn’t.
