Obviously post pandemic, a lot a has changed. But consumer sentiment pre-pandemic was on a rise before the virus. I think it's fair, you may disagree, but if the vote was just about the economy, most thought the economy would have been a tougher sell for the Dems to oust Trump on. Again, we live in a different world now. But this economic indicator about how people feel about their financial and economical situation....a monthly indicator....shows sentiment was strengthening leading up to the virus.
Which, again, was also a trend occurring before Trump took office.
It's always baffling to me how much people base their votes on the economy when who the president is has such a minimal impact on it. It's pretty consistently one of the top, if not the top thing that people base their votes on and it just goes to show how little people understand the mechanisms in place for these things.

The only thing that scares this coward more than military service is being asked a question.
I’ve never seen a triggered, orange snowflake run away from a podium that quickly.

It is entirely possible to recognize all of the racist and problematic things that Biden has said and done during his campaign and his political career at large while also realizing that he is a better choice than Donald Trump who has evolved into a fascist throughout his first term in office (not the Godwin's Law kind of fascist but an actual true colors fascist).
The only people who are voting blindly are the ones still willing to have Trump as president.

Low unemployment, the economy, the job creation and economic growth were all present before Trump was president. He just continued the trends that already existed. It's true that Trump didn't **** up Obama's economy (if you can even call it that, since the president is not the end all be all when it comes to the economy anyway), but this idea that the economy was in shambles and Trump created it out of thin air is objectively incorrect.

As for the judicial reform, I'll give you that he did completely reshape the supreme court with two conservative judges and he has packed courts with young conservative judges, but that was partially (or, perhaps, primarily) made possible by wild amounts of obstruction from the Republican Senate, namely Mitch McConnell, and it really isn't something Republicans should be bragging about. "We flouted constitutional law for our own political ends" is not something constitutional conservatives would proudly say.

I wouldn't really call what has happened judicial "reform."
It is a kind of collusion between president and Senate Republicans to use existing levers of power to drive quasi-legal actions against the spirit of the Constitution to maintain party power.
It's really the same kind of thing one sees in developing illiberal states like Hungary and Turkey, where the ruling party creates laws and acts specifically to limit the representation/power of another party, while retaining external features of liberal democracy like voting, parliaments and judicial review.
In the US this judicial "reform" is of piece with gerrymandering, voter ID laws, voting against impeachment, and now, controlling the USPS.
Republicans who see the Constitutional issues here have broken from the party in their effort to save country and Constitution.

I don’t deny that many thought that the economy was doing well, but unfortunately average Americans thinking the economy is doing well doesn’t erase a ballooning deficit or a looming credit bubble.

Well, then I'm not really sure what Brad is referring to when he says "judicial reform." It would have been helpful if he listed actual accomplishments, like bills or laws that created change, rather than trends and blanket terms. I assumed he meant reshaping the courts to be more conservative by judicial reform, but if there was a bill passed that actually changed the judicial branch in some way, I'd have to read up on it.

My guess is it was just an imprecise usage.
I assumed he was referring to all the court stacking, led largely by McConnell, who blocked Obama appointments in hopes of a Republican President, effectively stealing a Supreme Court nomination. When Trump was elected, they then took lists of the "right" judges prepared by conservative lobbies like the Federalist Society and funneled them to McConnel, who confirmed them as quickly as possible.

A concomitant issue is that many of these judges have inferior or negative ABA ratings. That suggests they were selected, not to interpret the law with competence and impartiality, but to further a specific ideological agenda, a goal which requires only agreement with agenda, not competence or respect for rule of law.

Of course this is a Trump "accomplishment" only for those down with this anti-Constitutional agenda. Many "conservatives" see an achievement here, and sometimes argue (falsely) this is no different from what the Dems do when hey are in power, and (again falsely) that Democratic intransigence has forced them to these measures.
For the rest of us, this "reform" is another part of the ongoing Constitutional crisis brought on by Trump's presidency and behavior.

Yea, that was my interpretation as well. If my original post wasn't clear, I apologize. I was referring directly to McConnell stealing the SCOTUS nomination from Obama and packing the courts with young conservative judges after blocking Obama's attempts to fill them during his term (Donald had a quote about how did Obama leave so many vacant seats, as if he didn't know that was intentional.)

I don't even know where to begin with this. There is so much wrong in it that it's just a collage of ignorance.
BTW, how do you feel about the whole red pill thing being an allegory for coming out as trans?

Well, as I've been told about the "ok" sign it doesn't matter what something was if it gets hijacked by others who change the meaning entirely.

The rainbow is God's promise to never flood the world again. Just because a group of unfortunately confused people use it to represent something that is un-biblical doesn't change what it truly means.

It was nice of you to admit doctors are more valuable than garbage men in between your posts about how covid is an overblown crock of liberal fear-mongering.
At any rate, you can tell me Biden is crap and I'll listen but when you lead off with Trump being a man who loves this country and what it is founded upon you are either a troll or just as crazy as the OP thinks Biden voters are.

That's the first time I've heard that. Honestly, I don't really care or support it, but I'm not the one that has to stand before God on the day of judgement and answer for their way of life.
I have enough sins of my own to answer for.

You are correct. I do believe this Covid pandemic is over hyped.
Why do you think Trump ran for president?
