One..I am amazed at the amount of passion by all participating..You guys are great..But the amount of negativity regarding picks is somewhat confusing.
This team..aside from injuries to Burrow and a dozen and one half other players the past two years would once again have been in super Bowl consideration.
.We have a very good team and now ..organization.. Yet...I think so many of us have ..over the years been accustomed to such poor results, we relied heavily on us drafting "BIG NAME" players in the draft.. At the same time the very successful teams just drafted some players to fill certain needs and continued to move forward.
This team needed some oomph on the DL..they got a player that has really good potential..This team needed to add that same oomph @ linebacker..ditto..this team needed a solid player @ guard..we drafted such...All three will add to completion for positions which is a good thing
And ..again. aside from the top 12-15 players in the draft..the talent and skill level of all the remaining players is not remarkably different
And finally..to attach a grade to players that were drafted the past 2 days is ridiculous..Some of these lessor known players may prove to be superstars in the NFL and some of the big names will be busts..or medicore
Bengals did ok..And..let us not forget..when final cuts are made this summer there will be a plethora of really good players available..
Bowman Jr. Is small but talent for S depth in CF.
Marcus Mbow may be BPA if still there and 2 MID round rookies could both be good enough to start.
Ty Robinson or Joshua Farmer warrant the pick even if they're buried as a 5th DT.
a 25-year-old linebacker with comparisons to Germaine Pratt the man he is likely to replace. He was a team captain in his only year at SC and apparently is a clubhouse leader. Was he the best choice in round 2...probably not with what we know now. Hopefully time will prove us wrong
Zac Taylor on Demetrius Knight: “It felt a lot like waiting for Logan (Wilson) a couple years ago.”
If you want to follow the NFL draft including the highest graded players still available to draft at each position or overall, ESPN's website is pretty useful for keeping tabs on who is still left the Bengals could target. You have the overall ranking of guys available or you can click on the position to see the best available at each position.
Draft Day is in the books. Many. fans are not happy, I am better after I read the role Stewart was asked to play at A&M.
We grabbed a DE Stewart in round one to shore up our DL in 2025. I feel we need a guard next and this one may be available>
Pre-Draft Analysis Savaiinaea lined up at right tackle, left tackle and right guard in college. At the combine, he tied for the second-fastest 10-yard split (1.72) out of the offensive linemen and ran a 4.95 40-yard dash. Those are impressive numbers for an offensive lineman, especially one who weighs 324 pounds. He played guard in four games in 2023, and he's a better pass blocker on the inside than at tackle. Savaiinaea's length and frame make it tough to get around him when he plays inside. He moves well enough to mirror when his footwork is sound, and he's strong enough to anchor when he wins with his hands. He primarily played offensive tackle, and he can provide depth there in the NFL. He's not a fundamentally sound run blocker, but he is big enough to wall off defenders and strong enough to get push. -- Steve Muench
It would work for me, he seems very athletic and could also be a backup at tackle as he competes year 1 at OG.
Its obvious after watching Duke wasting another 1st round pick on a project at DE for the 2nd time in the last 3 years, Lou wasn't behind the Murphy pick. It should have been clear anyway given how little Lou played Murphy, Murphy wasn't his guy. Duke making another freaking blunder of a pick. What a complete waste when the team needs immediate help at several positions. Unbelievable.
