I've never been this pissed off after a win. This doesn't mean that I'm as pissed off in wins as I am lossess, but this win put a sour taste in my mouth after all the good feels for Jake Browning not giving up and making the most of his oppurtunity.
"Zac Taylor deserves cred...."
Zac Taylor doesn;'t deserve shit.
Jake Browning just showed the world that he, at minimum, is a capable backup and probably better than a hobbled Joe Burrow. Since that's now been established, it begs the question: Why did Taylor start an injured Burrow for 4 games?!
I haven't seen the stats, but I saw Jake Browning under center more often than I see Burrow. I saw a more balanced run/pass attack that was very successful, something that can't happen when Burrow is in the game becasue...reasons?
The Bengals' offensive philosophy is the problem. It isn't the O-line. It isn't Burrow's injury. It isn't Pollack or MIxon. It's Zac Taylor;s insistence on passing 10000 times a bloody game when Burrow is out there.
The Bengals need to change that if they want to keep Burrow healthy and get their first Lombardi.
Until they do, it'll be heartbreaking frustration for many years to come.
Zac Taylor needs to be a leader and give Joe Burrow what he NEEDS, not what he wants. IDC if Joe prefers the spread offense. He NEEDS a good run game and NEEDS to go under center.
Endrant.

I normally do not predictions. Tonight is a must win in my opinion to have any shot at the playoffs as we have zero AFC wins in 2023.
Call me crazy, but I think the Bengals defense will step up, Mixon will step as will Browning.
I say we win 23 to 20. If we win a tough road game, we are not far off from getting in the playoffs. Still a tough remaining schedule, but we would have hope.

Who is everyone most excited to "evaluate" tonight when it comes to the Bengals?
I am excited to see Myles Murphy continue to show what he can do.
I am also looking forward to Chase Brown FINALLY getting carries (hopefully).
It'd be nice to see Charlie Jones also get involved, knowing he could be Boyds replacement.
Who else you got?

"Tanking" in the NFL |

In baseball or basketball players can get by without maximum effort when they have to play a month or two of meaningless games, but in the NFL they have to be going 100% every play or else they will get embarrassed. NFL players bust their asses all year round and risk their health to play these games. There is no way any of them are going to "tank" anything.
Coaches can start giving backups more playing time, but again, it is hard to explain to a veteran who has worked so hard and dedicated so much that he will be losing playing time to an inferior player just so the team can "take a look" at him.
If the trade deadline had not passed the front office could start trading current starters for draft picks or they could release high priced starters, but we are not in a "re-build" mode so this won't happen.
As a fan I can't watch a Bengal game without cheering for them to win. In the situation we are in right now the losses are not quite as painful to deal with, but I still really hate to watch the Bengals lose.
Basically I don't want us to "tank', and I am pretty sure none of the players are "tanking". But if we do lose I can deal with it a little better because this season is lost.
