Andrei Iosivas says he is good to go for Sunday
Sam Hubbard is ignoring questions on that subject but looked to be rehabbing well last week
CTB is day-to-day with a bruised quad. He is unsure about Sunday's status
no word on Tee yet
Burrow of course is out

How would you redesign the offense with our current players? |

Here are my thoughts:
1) Embrace power blocking schemes on both run and pass. Our OL room is currently oriented towards power schemes, so lean into it. This even extends to offseason player acquisition - go power. And commit to it - no more switching the scheme during the season.
2) Get under center. It helps the linemen get into a rhythm especially if we run more than we have been (my next point actually). It also helps disguise the play a bit.
3) RUN MORE! We should be aiming at a target of roughly even between run and pass. Not only will this increase the effectiveness of the run game over time it will make play action work better and also cause defenses to have to play the run more and not tee off like they do now.
4) Redesign the routes to help the receivers get open. Make the QBs life easier. This takes a lot of forms such as bunches, crossers, slants and more. Plus doing this in conjunction with the earlier points will make it easier to get open.
5) Gameplan to use the tendencies of the opposing defense to your advantage. ALL defenses have tendencies which game film study can reveal. The art here is identifying those tendencies and figuring out how to burn the defense on them.
6) Break your own patterns. Watch your own offense on tape and look for "tells" that give the play away. Then remove them. Once you remove the defense knowing the play it also makes them have to hesitate for that critical second.

signed QB Drew Plitt to PS
moved PS player G Jaxson Kirkland to the PS/Injured list
designated HB Chase Brown for return from IR...they have 21 days to activate him or return him to IR
no move yet to place Burrow on IR and sign AJ McCarron to the 53 but I'm sure that will happen soon enough

Against Tanking |

Yes, Joe Burrow is out for the season. Yes, the Bengals are last place in the AFC North. Ticket sales are dropping, fans are despondent, and the sports analysts are gleeful because they’ve projected the Bengals to completely implode. Some fans even want the team to tank on purpose to secure an earlier draft pick.
I’m against tanking for any reason. I want the Bengals to feed the NFL and the smarmy television analysts a big shitburger and make the playoffs anyway.
It’s possible. The defense needs to burn or shred the scheme used against Baltimore and Houston and do whatever they did against San Francisco and Buffalo. Zac needs to switch to a run-first offense even if it means using an extra offensive lineman.
If the Bengals’ record was 4-6 or worse then I might make me more sympathetic to those who want to tank. Let’s beat the Steelers and then move on to the next game.

Don’t be upset about losing out & why it is ok. |

There is no need to have a divide amongst us regarding those that want to win some games and those that are ok with losing out.
I can’t speak for all of us ok with losing the rest of the games, but I can assure you that my thought process has zero to do with any indictment on Zac Taylor as some have suggested. My outlook is 100% common sense to me.
We were not a great team with Burrow this year, the Wild Card would be difficult to attain having no tie breakers other than Buffalo. Without Burrow we likely will not be close to being in contention.
The schedule next season is one reason why losing out can be beneficial.
Losing out offers a 4th Round schedule – we know how close the #1 & #2 seeding can be, a single loss could be the difference. Playing the Giants instead of the Eagles could be a deciding factor.
The draft is the most important benefit of losing out. Assuming we are NOT in contention, any wins could be damaging for years to come. One more win in 2019 and we likely do not have Burrow.
Some of have argued the draft is a “crapshoot”, which is true overall, but the higher teams draft the more likely they obtain a quality player.
Some have argued that we are not good at drafting, which is true – especially for the trenches, but we do better drafting much higher in each round.
We are currently slated to draft 18th. We could easily jump 9 spots and possibly 11 to the #7 pick.
Losing out puts us in contention for major impact players for the next 5 years:
The #1 TE, Brock Boward, is he a game changer? Do we have a hole at TE?
The #1 DT, Jer’Zhan Newton, would interior pass rush help? Do we need a Reader replacement?
The #2 WR, is Tee leaving?
A Top 5 OT, we are likely losing Jonah.
It is not just the 1st Rounders, it’s all the way down the draft. Tee Higgins & Logan Wilson instead of Jackson Carman and Zach Carter.
Teams we could leapfrog in the draft:
Saints
Falcons
Bucs
Colts
Broncos
Chargers
Raiders
Bills
Commanders
Packers
Rams
I do appreciate those that want to win as much as possible, but this season could be the catalyst for a great run next year. Losing Joe to the ACL was horrendous, but we got Chase and went to the Super Bowl.
