For being the primary reason that the Bengals won that game today. Forcing turnovers that led to short scoring drives in the 1st half, keep SF at bay, while the OL did not a thing to help this team put the 49ers away in the 2nd half. Burfict, Atkins, Dunlap, Williams, Jones, all deserve game balls. The OL should have to purchase them.
On another note, I thought McCarron looked alright. He showed good composure, ability to read a defense, make smart decisions, and a little arm strength. Especially when you consider that the running game was non-existent, and the pass protection was brief at best. Thank goodness for Marvin Jones and Tyler Kroft!

Very few teams have made it 5 years in a row to the playoffs... it is so hard to keep consistent and over come injuries etc for a team in this era to do that... Sure we want more but also we should at least take a bow for what we have accomplished making it 5 years in a row. Now on to Denver and lets lock up a bye in 1st round for sure

QB Andy Dalton
WR Mario Alford
S George Iloka
OT Jake Fisher
TE Tyler Eifert
DT Marcus Hardison
DT Pat Sims
Wonder if we will see Ced in the Jumbo packages?
Could this be the week Hunt makes his mark?
Good to see PacMan back active.
If Eifert could stay healthy he could be one of the game's best

Cam is the king of 5 yard passes and good for him. Why the heck we can't do this is beyond me.
They barely run and are up 21-7 on the Giants (at the Giants) and making it look SO EASY.
When will this team comprehend how much more effective we would be if we do high percentage short passes all the way down the field with an occasional long pass.
Why do we feel so compelled to run when it has not worked well for us and a 5-yard PASS to GIO or Hill or anyone else is TOO EASY and pretty much a guarantee of 5+ yards.

The Bengals have a lower winning percentage (.214) against the Niners than any other team in the league. In addition to the two Super Bowl losses the bengals are just 3-9 against them in the regular season (1-5 away, 2-4 home). However after losing 9 in a row from 1978 to 2003 the Bengals have won 2 of the last four meetings.

Defense and/or special teams need to make big plays...We need a score from one of these units or both would be better....Take the pressure off AJ and the offense...make the field short...If Cleveland can hold SF to 3 points then they should get a big fat 0 against us

Of course, the Bengals win the next 6 games...that's a given.
Here's the part that will make my want come to be.
Pittsburgh to lose to the Broncos in a hard fought and emotional battle that goes into overtime. This will make the Bengals the AFC North Champions after the Bengals beat the 49'ers.
Then next Monday night, the Bengals go into Denver and beat the Broncos which will give the Bengals the number 2 seed.
Then the last game of the year, the Bengals can use the starters sparingly and beat the Ravens.
Maybe the Patriots will lose to the Jets as well this week...or is it next week? I don't know, but maybe they will and then drop another thinking they have the 1 seed wrapped up. This will give the Bengals the 1 seed and the Broncos the 2 seed.
Where's Andrew Lucks beard when we need it?

By Jim Owczarski, Cincinnati.com
The Enquirer takes a deep dive into NFL history and finds that the Bengals are looking to do something very rare - continue their Super Bowl dream with a backup quarterback.
The speeches began immediately.
With Most Valuable Player Candidate Andy Dalton standing on the sidelines in a black T-shirt, black baseball hat and with a black cast on his right hand, left tackle Andrew Whitworth called up the offense on the sidelines Sunday afternoon at Paul Brown Stadium. He challenged his teammates to play at a higher level to help AJ McCarron fill the void.
That message remained consistent through Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis’ post-game speech, and in position group meetings on Monday. Move forward. Do what we do. Keep the train rolling.
“You gotta almost have a bedside manner, like a doctor,” said former Baltimore Ravens head coach and Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Brian Billick. “You walk in and you’re calm and well, we’re OK, you’re going to be OK, this is what we’ll do.”
Despite the public facing statements, or even the comments between the team and coaches, undoubtedly there were the private thoughts among the team Sunday on the sideline – private moments alone in a closed-door office, which maybe only the years can open.
“It’s almost like your heart kind of drops in your lap,” said former Ohio State quarterback Mike Tomczak, who as a second-year player was forced into a similar situation in Chicago in 1986.
Billick was more blunt.
“It’s ‘oh my God we’re f-----.”
