Getting a lot of hype going into this season as one of our Slot guys and played well for us
in the Playoffs unlike all the rest of our Receivers. Dude is quick and can beat backers at
will and has been doing it again this Offseason.
Might be a surprise player for us this season in the mold of a Wes Welker 2.0.
First thread i started on the new board BTW.

Anybody Want To Give Me A Ride To Training Camp? |

Anybody coming through Northern Kentucky and mind picking me up on their way to training camp?
Get some pretty good opportunities to meet and talk to players, especially if it's in the stadium.
Not 100% sold on going, especially if days keep looking like today, but let me know if anyone can and doesn't mind because I'd greatly appreciate it!

Marvin Lewis leading shakeup
The players here are sporting "Bengals Revival" T-shirts, and as head coach Marvin Lewis explained to me, it's the outgrowth of an effort he started with his staff at the end of the 2014 season. He wanted them to evaluate everything -- similar to the way he did in 2011 -- and shake things up. As part of that, the Bengals doubled the size of their weight room, added a dining area and redid the players' lounge. "We kinda restarted things," Lewis explained. "And I told the coaches after last season, 'We gotta find a different way.' Our way's not good enough. We gotta find a different way. And we gotta push all the time. I think the guys have done a good job, the players have done a nice job of responding to that. They know that. They know that here is not where we want to be. We want to end up at the top." The obvious inference that can be drawn, of course, is that it'll take a little more to get out of the first round of the playoffs, where the team's past four seasons have ended. Lewis continued, "Every step, the organization has done a great job in putting the guys in position to do these things. Now we've gotta capitalize on it and get it done."

Preseason Media Predictions Don't Mean Much |

I remember being excited before 1978 that Sporting News had Bengals winning the AFC Central and going to the Super Bowl. They didn't have Steelers doing much. ....Then Bengals had a lousy season and Steelers won Super the next 2 years, 4 Super Bowls wins in the 1970's.....The media didn't have Bengals doing anything going into 1981 or 1988, our 2 trips to the Super Bowl. .....So my point is the preseason media hype is hype and hype only. It' doesn't mean much. Coach Paul Brown said it best when asked in preseason about where the media has them picked to finish. He said, " all these magazines and things come out around this time of year saying who will finish where. It makes you wonder why we even play the season. I've noticed they get it pretty wrong every year, so let's just go ahead and play the season. "
So, anybody picking Bengals to lose, that don't mean anything, nor does anybody picking Bengals to win. It doesn't mean jack. I shake my head at how college goes so much on preseason polls. They would be better off just picking back up where teams finished last year after all the bowl games and championship games ( Ohio State, Oregon, Alabama, ect..), instead of having an AP Preseason Poll and a UPI Preseason Poll. Don't let the media take the teams that won and move them down in the polls before the new season starts, make teams win and earn their way up the rankings, or lose their way down. The good thing about the NFL is that the polls don't mean a thing, only what happens on the field.

5. Rushing yards
6. Passing yards
7. Wins
8. First Downs (offense)
9. Total Turnovers (defense)
10. Plus/Minus in turnover ratio
2014 Numbers for reference....
1. Points per game (offense) 22.8

A tweet, I think from Harvey, that Marvin Jones is not practicing again today.
That, in spite of Marvin Lewis showing obvious frustration with him yesterday. This situation needs to get turned around.
Otherwise, our decision to not draft a wide receiver just gets worse.

I know you all read us every day but, you know, just in case
The "news" in here is that the team is basically going to keep Cedric Ogbuehi off the field for as long as possible - not because there are any setbacks, but because they feel they can, and it's necessary for a full recovery. Some great insights from Ced here, too- including what happened to him in April.
Bengals, Ogbuehi playing the long game with his ACL recovery
Oh - I'll get to all your questions Monday - late camp day today and then I'm off this weekend, but keep 'em coming!

Dennard VS Gilbert & Dre K VS Millner |

in 2012 the Bengals drafted Dre K. A lot of us here have labeled him a bust out of frustration with his health and inability to get on the field. Finally healthy (poo poo poo). He shown flashes in game. Now in training camp he is really stepping up.
Dee Millner was drafted the next year by the jets out of desperation for Revis leaving. He's been quite a disappointment going as far as probably not making the roster this year for the Jets. Now he's injured out 6-8 weeks with a broken wrist. So they may keep him on IR or PUP. who knows.
Dennard and Gilbert were drafted in the same year last year. My hear was pounding watching that draft praying that Dennard fell to the Bengals. Watching Cleveland trade around and take Gilbert at 9.
Well reports are coming out of Cleveland the kid has horrible work ethic and is on the bottom of the depth chart. Running with the 3s.
We as fans have been quick to jump on our players and say they are busts. Also it goes to show you we do have a better scouting and coaching staff.
We could have had both these players instead we end up with Dre K and Dennard.
I'm pretty happy about that right now.
