Tee’s market price

But tbf they always have one of the best rosters top to bottom.

They won the damn thing before that. They're in the Super Bowl for the 3rd time in under 10 years. I'ma go ahead and say it's because they're a very well run organization with an extremely competent FO. Must be nice. We can't even figure out how to re-up our no brainer players. He'll it took them til right before week one to get Burrow done... Idiots.

The Bengals are paying Joe Burrow 55 million per year.  This means the Bengals would have 53 million left to pay Chase and Higgins if comparing to what the Eagles are spending for their QB + top 2 WRs.  The Bengals could give Higgins his 25 million per year which would leave Chase 28 million per year.  You think Chase would go for that to keep the gang together?  Justin Jefferson got 35 million per year.  If you give Chase a better contract at 36 million per year that leaves Tee 17 million per year.  The comparison to the Eagles isnt valid because the Bengals would end up spending several million more on the QB + WR1 +WR2

From ESPN, comparing Hurst and Burrow cap hits:

"And in 2023, the first year each player was eligible for a contract extension, they landed new deals. But while Burrow's contract structure shares similarities to Hurts' structure, there are key differences, according to Roster Management System.

Even though there is a $20 million difference in the value of both five-year extensions, which is less than 8% of the total contract value, the salary cap hits are vastly different. This year, Hurts cost $13.56 million against the Eagles' salary cap, which was 7.3% of the team's total cap space. Burrow, meanwhile, carried a cap charge of $29.7 million, taking up 12.23% of cap room. The cap differences can be attributed to the cash distributed in the first two years of the extension -- $62.1 million for Hurts compared to $111.2 million for Burrow, per OverTheCap.com.
Last year, the Eagles also gave wide receiver DeVonta Smith a contract extension -- three years for $75 million, with nearly $70 million of that guaranteed. However, he also carried a low cap charge in 2024 ($8.12 million, 4.4% of cap space) and received $33.9 million in cash in the first two years.
The combined cap hits for Hurts and Smith equals $21.7 million -- $130,000 cheaper than Tee Higgins' one-year franchise tag that counted against the cap in 2024."

The two dynasties in this century have one common denominator - QBs who take less to help build a winning Team AND ownership who then fully utilize that to maximize their spend everywhere else. Brady did that for years, and Mahomes is doing it now.
If Joe wants Chase and Tee paid and win games, then he needs to restructure to help that. Don't get on air and talk about concessions and then eat the entire freaking pie. The ownership needs to either get with the times or sell the Team.

Otherwise Burrow and Chase get MVP nods and we are an average Team.

The eagles can do that because they're one of the best ran organizations in sports and they draft well and they do FA well they do it all.....we DON'T.

The Eagles were smart enough to bring Becton in on a reasonable deal knowing his ceiling was extremely high. Where not a single poster on this board agreed with me when suggesting the Bengals should sign Becton and move him to Guard before this season for the exact same reason, cheap player with a very high ceiling at a position of great need.

Now I see people suggesting that the Bengals get Becton this year in FA for a bag , but the Eagles are not going to let him walk imho.

Eagles 1, Bengals 0, their gamble paid off while the Bengals kept their hands in their pocket and all agreed wrongly that it was the right move.

Not a fan of either SB team but in no way am I pulling for KC, so go Eagles for this game. Doubt the refs will agree though.

Restructuring isn't taking less tho. The time to do that was when he was negotiating his extension.... And, well, unlike those qb's of those two dynasties... He "took" the highest paid player in the league route.

I'm still so on the fence with Tee. There's still a large part of me that wants to keep "the band together". But there's another a tad larger part of me that just doesn't believe they can/will be able to pay Trey, pay Ja'Marr Chase and give Tee WR#1 money and be able to fix this team.

After watching last night Super Bowl I'm even more convinced our Dline has to be upgraded, has to be!! So we're going to have to go out and get two starting level guards. We're going to have to get free agents in other areas as well. TE? WR2, S ?? whatever?

Because in my mind two of our top three picks need to be Dline. We have Trey, a couple decent guys, and a bunch of question marks on our Dline as far as I'm concerned. I'm in no way convinced Hubbard can make it back to a productive level. Murphy has "bust" written all over him. Ossai has flashed some but he's not looking like anything but a rotational type.

Rankins should be gone and I'm just not convinced about Jenkins and Jackson. IMHO we have to fix our lines and if we don't Tee or 3 more Tee's isn't going to matter.

Kind of damned if you do and damned if you don't situation.  If they do he gets injured and is never the same. If they don't Pittsburgh or Baltimore gets him and he breaks all of Jamnar's records. That should be the Bengals team motto..

1000%..our Bengals team is two draft and FA cycles behind the Eagles..at least ..and people on here are worrying about Tee Higgins..whom by the way cant stay healthy,,As bad as they looked that KC team last night would have beaten the bengals..I think the people on this Board are passionate about our team and football in general and I respect that..But this Higgins, Chase Burrow thing has to be put to rest..We have beaucoup positions that need to be filled..all over the place

dont forget the offensive line..I was unaware until it was pointed out..Philly has the biggest offensive line in the league..and they controlled the game..I am not on the fence with Tee Higgins..good receiver..good guy..but he cant stay healthy nor can the bengals ..at this point in time..spend so much money on Burrow, Chadse and Higgins..and if his organization cannot find  number 2 and three receivers  that can run simple routes , catch the football and take the heat off Chase..then the heck with them

It's funny you blame Mulugheta for stalling the Higgins negotiations, but Higgins has openly said that in the '22-'23 offseason the Bengals offer never even reached $20m/yr despite that being when he was coming off back-to-back 1k seasons, so they stopped negotiating for over a year because it was such a lowball.

Oh, I had an idea, I just can't figure why they kick the can down the road when they can do themselves a favor (in many ways) by signing guys early.

It's painful to face the likely reality of them being so in love with young players on cheap deals that they'd cut their noses of in spite of their faces to cling to the rookie years. I think that's exactly how they operate.

Am very happy with the outcome but not sure the refs had a chance to interject per the Eagles D-Line just dominated without even blitzing one time. .

Wish the Bengals D-line pressured QB's like Philly does and all they really did was draft Georgia Bulldogs often on that side of the ball. Trey gets [pressure but is sort of a one trick pony, albeit one the Bengals need.

Eagles are a well balanced team and deserved their ring and hoping the Bengals get more balanced this off season to make a run. .

So which is it?

A) Tee lets us know when he signs the deal to remain in Cincinnati
B) Tee lets us know his side of the story when shit falls apart in negotiations with the Bengals

I would guess Higgins wants to stay with the Bengals and has given the Bengals his price.  Tee sees it as being up to the Bengals management if he stays or not.  Its out of his control although not really because it does come down to what Tee is demanding to be paid.  I understand Tee wanting to maximize his payday.  I also understand the Bengals needing to use that money elsewhere on other needs.  If the Bengals let Tee walk, they better upgrade the offensive line at the guard position(s) or else it makes no sense to let Tee walk.
