Trey Hendrickson Update
(4 hours ago)Timanky12 Wrote: Let’s be honest, the Bengals struggle to sign their top tier players very year. This is nothing new, why should we be surprised.

Trey is signed and under contract. We already signed Chase, Tee, Gesicki, Fant and others so your take makes no sense.

Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

Rams and Broncos make sense more so Rams!

Rams have a ton of quality DL players they could send. I’d take Byron Young and a pick.

And you are dead on correct, they aren't serious about winning a championship, action speaks louder than words...

The real question is will everyone hate Burrow when his contract runs out and he goes somewhere else to win a Super Bowl before his career is over? Make no bones about it, the front office keeps pulling this shit he is as good as gone
with Chase to follow...

Is Burrow lying? Just this week at PC, he said he will be a Bengal for life.

He may be signed, that doesn’t mean he’s going to play. And I said the struggle and drag things on, I didn’t say they never sign their top tier players.

Mike Brown is standing out in the heat as a 90 yr old watching practice.
1: if you care that much sign some contracts.
2: Not sure if Katie and co. will want to be that active. I mean if your gonna give 5 billion dollars I could see alot of people walking away.

2017,2018,2019

We were bottom 3 for attendance in the league.

People had, had enough of Marv and didn’t see the team going anywhere under Dalton.

This was after decades of not having a playoff win and the prices were relatively low compared to the spike they’ve taken the past couple of years.

If we fall apart this season 3 years without making the playoffs Burrow might ask for a trade who would blame him honestly at this point?

You’ll get the die hard idiots (myself included) willing to spend thousands watching them but the casual/bandwagon fan is not going to pay those prices to watch average football.

We were so close a couple of years ago we all thought there might have been a change in tactics from the FO and it wasn’t a matter of if but when we won a Lombardi.

While that cackling evil cow is in charge of doing the contacts it’s never going to happen.

FYI
Here are some of the players the Bengals have not re-signed by year:

2025
The Bengals have not re-signed several players who have signed with other teams, including Joe Bachie (LB) and Khalil Herbert (RB) with the Indianapolis Colts, Trayveon Williams (RB) with the New England Patriots, Trent Brown (OT) with the Houston Texans, Jay Tufele (DT) with the New York Jets, and Akeem Davis-Gaither (LB) with the Arizona Cardinals. Sam Hubbard (DE) retired, while Alex Cappa (G) and Sheldon Rankins (DT) were released. Additionally, due to a contract dispute, the Bengals are reportedly listening to trade offers for Trey Hendrickson (DE).
2024
Notable players not re-signed in 2024 include Joe Mixon (RB), who was traded to the Houston Texans. Others who signed with different teams were DJ Reader (DT) and Hayden Hurst (TE) with the Detroit Lions and Carolina Panthers respectively, Chidobe Awuzie (CB) with the Tennessee Titans, Jonah Williams (OT) with the Arizona Cardinals, and Irv Smith Jr. (TE) with the Kansas City Chiefs.
2023
In 2023, the Bengals lost several key players, including Jessie Bates III (S) who signed with the Atlanta Falcons, Vonn Bell (S) and Hayden Hurst (TE) who signed with the Carolina Panthers, and Samaje Perine (RB) who signed with the Denver Broncos. Eli Apple (CB) also left in free agency.
This list includes some of the more notable players the Bengals could not retain.

Plus they have 2 first RD picks next years draft.

A.) They could be willing to move on from one of those picks.

B.) (More likely) trade a second + a player or two for Trey.

Ideal trade would be Turner + Young + 2nd for Trey & 5th RD pick

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

Well, we will see Sam Cosmi Monday night.

He is recovering from ACL, so the trade may be acceptable to Washington.

This is the typical Bengals. They really know how to drum up some excitement for the season don't they. This FO is just completely clueless, embarrassing and may actually be the worst in all of sports.

I said this a few days ago. If you’ve followed my posts I’ve not been as confident we’d sign Trey. I’ve heard he wants elite top money or less but 3 year guarantee. I don’t think there was a monetary agreement as reported. Sadly they couldn’t compromise .
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

You said every year they struggle in post 10 in this thread. BTW..your 2025 list is extremely weak sauce to make your argument, almost comical.

If you can get an equal caliber (younger) RG, and then bring in Z Smith, you could be in a decent spot.

Idk..

It is the right move.

Trey will be a Bengal under his current contract, unless the Bengals get a fair deal for him, at least a 2nd rounder plus, IMO.

Nothing comes through, he plays with the team and in under threat for a tag and trade next season.

Time is on the Bengals side, not Trey's.

Would you trade Trey for Buckner and juice (more)?

Maybe the bengals feel like they just want to crush the pocket from the inside and bring designed blitzes where Lou was a little less creative.

Its bad no matter how you slice. We have 30mil in cap space and the only reasoning for that was to sign Trey. We should've signed a actual starting guard maybe a safety then traded Trey predraft. The old way the Bengals did things doesnt work. We will waste the window we have.

(4 hours ago)pally Wrote: It is just as likely thay it was purposefully leaked to show Trey no one wanted him to take the contract offer.

Or it is possible it is a team wanting to trade for Trey for a cheap price and trying to see if publicity can bring the price down

Either way...its much ado about nothing.  No one is going to give the Bengals what they want for Trey

And seriously...they would never trade him to the Browns.  With our OL, Myles and Trey would kill Joe

good thing the COLTS have Anamuro, hopefully they'll get him. He can vouch for him in Indianapolis with his new start there.

Tre + a 1 for Micah where we give Micah a larger deal but we move guarantees forward is only trade that would make any sense from a Bengals looking to win now.
