our defense does need dramatic improvement and the bengals have addresed such both with coaching changes, the draft and FA...you have been posulating ad nauseum that without Hendickson the defense is sunk..wrong..hendickson is only a small piece of the puzzle
He is only 1 piece of the puzzle but you do understand that he was one of if not THE biggest puzzles pieces in all of the NFL last year? Look up who had their teams highest % of sacks/pressures etc.
Foolish to make it sound like he is not still by far the best and most important piece on this defense.
You thought the 2024 D was bad? Without Trey the 2025 D says “hold my beer”.

He doesn't.

That's right Nate, a winning attitude should be projected by the ownership and resonate throughout the entire organization. Nothing about the Bengals management screams "We want a Lombardi". More like "Eh, we'll do enough to make them interesting to watch so that tickets sell".

Oh Sunset..a few months ago that winning attitude you speak to was applauded when the Bengals finalized higgins and chase completing that wonderful trifecta with Burrow that spoke volumes about the determination of the organization to be superbowl competitive for years to come..But god forbid the team is not moving fast enough on retaining a 30 year old defensive lineman and Giving him a second contract extension in 2 years...its all doom snd gloom..oh the hypocrisy ..have a great afternoon..rain has passed..time for golf

This is the most accurate statement I've read on here in years.
"If the most important thing is the financials' and the second most important thing is winning, then you don't have a chance. It's so important for ownership to do what it takes to win"

Rest assured, Joe and Ja’Marr’s expectations are titles, not being above .500. And I’m glad you recognized how bad the defense was last year. However, I’m not seeing these dramatic improvements you referred to. The draft choices you’re referring to aren’t even signed, and even with that, they’re still just rookies so there’s no evidence to say they’ve improved on that front. In free agency, they signed a nose tackle who’ll be a rotational piece and a backup linebacker. Where is this dramatic improvement you speak of coming from? Sounds more like you’re hoping Golden can turn water into wine and make something out of this defense. You can hope that happens but I’d feel much more confident if they actually addressed some of these holes via signings instead of just rolling over $30 million in cap space.

Sad but true, I still think we can win the Lombardi with Burrow but man sure would like to see the Bengals go all out to do so for once.
Being good is good enough for them. We all want the Bengals to be great, I know Burrow and Chase do as well.

Only way Burrow wins a Super Bowl would be the Brown family sells the team or he leaves the Bengals. The ownership has no desire to win anything except in negotiations. Katie proves brilliance is not a genetic trait.

I'm waiting for someone to be a tool and post, "the dictionary says compete means to take part in a contest" as an attempt to feel right and seemingly giving Bengals ownership a free pass.

Internet today has a new NFL sources rumor that I hope is correct. The rumor says Bengals are considering dumping Zac Moss and salary to make cap room for defense and Hendrickson. It says with Chase Brown and Perrine back, plus other Bengals RB's. Bengals don't need Zac Moss. That makes sense. If the rumor is right that dumping Moss frees up cap space to sign defense, that make sense. They did sign Moss to a good chunk of money, but he never panned out here. He is now the odd man out at RB anyway. They brought in Moss after losing Mixon, but Chase Brown and Perrine back and other RB's make cutting Moss to sign defense an option.

Pro Football and Sports Network : Bengals RB predicted as a cut candidate as Bengals aim to solve defense
I saw this as new today when I googled Trey Hendrickson news.

Stranger things have happened. Burrow about won a Super Bowl in his second season with a shittier OL than he has now.
The ownership has a desire to win, they just don't go all out to do it which is a big problem for all of us.
Sucks to be a Bengals fan but as long as we have Joe Burrow we have as good of a chance as anyone.

It was nothing more than a subjective speculation article by some sportswriter.

but it makes sense, if it helps on salary cap. With all the RB's they have in camp, they need defense more than they need Zac Moss. So I hope the article ends up correct.

As Luvnit said, it really isn't a need to cut Moss at this point. We can get Shemar and Trey locked up without cutting the guy. Expect him to be
cut though as I think Tahj Brooks takes the last RB spot as he is maybe our best runner of all the backs. Tahj has great vision, burst, can catch
the ball out of the backfield and is a good pass protector. Moss wasn't even good in pass pro last season.
Chase Brown and Samaje of course are locks. But we shouldn't just cut Moss, he is insurance in case injuries happen right now.
