  Bengals are a slow team
Posted by: THE PISTONS - 11-17-2023, 11:31 AM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (49)

Texans and Ravens exposed it.

Ravens wrs looked much faster than our DBs. Their RBs were faster than our LBs.

Our WRs outside of Chase were slow and couldn't get open.

Bengals playcalling exposes Burrow to hits
Posted by: THE PISTONS - 11-17-2023, 11:12 AM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (38)

We were rushing for 8 yards per carry on 8 attempts.

The Ravens lead the league in sacks.

For some reason, Zac prefers to have Burrow drop back nearly every time to throw and minimally run.

And Burrow keeps getting hit until he's hurt.

Last night was a game to let Mixon rush for 160 yards and win.

The NFL is investigating why the Bengals did not list Joe Burrow on the injury report
Posted by: Trademark - 11-17-2023, 11:11 AM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (84)

The NFL is investigating why the Bengals did not list QB Joe Burrow on their injury report when the team posted a picture of him wearing a device on his wrist Wednesday night and he appeared to be hampered by the injury early in the Thursday night game that he later left, the league confirmed today.

The initial picture of Burrow wearing a device that looked like a soft cast on his thumb was posted by the Bengals, only to be deleted later.

The NFL routinely looks into matters of compliance with the Injury Report policy, and will do so in this instance as well. Teams can be fined or even potentially lose a draft pick.

Greg Cook and Virgil Carter 2.0
Posted by: Fan_in_Kettering - 11-17-2023, 10:29 AM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (7)

While watching last night's game I had a flashback to when Greg Cook went down. I wasn't born yet but that's not important right now. What is important is the opportunity for Zac Taylor to come up with a whole new offense just like Paul Brown did. Greg Cook, like Joe Burrow, was an outstanding quarterback with uncanny accuracy with any length pass. Both men even have similar backgrounds; Cook played high school football in Chillicothe and Burrow played in Athens.

Jake Browning impressed me last night. He got mauled by the Ravens but he kept playing. Most of Browning's shorter passes were thrown expertly but his long passes weren't very accurate. This is eerily similar to Virgil Carter's skill set. Zac needs to pull out every playbook detailing the Ohio River Offense -- it was invented in Cincinnati and I refuse to call it the West Coast Offense -- and get Jake Browning on the same page. The Bengals won a lot of games with Virgil Carter dinking and dunking and hitting lots of crossing routes to the tight ends and there's little reason history cannot repeat.

This type of offense also takes pressure off a shaky offensive line. Admittedly, the Ohio River Offense requires an above average run game to complement the short passes; what I saw last night from Joe Mixon leads me to believe this is possible to achieve.

If Burrow is out Zac will be exposed
Posted by: 740Bengal - 11-17-2023, 09:46 AM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (544)

Zac is a mid tier play caller at best, Burrow makes him, everyone in the league or affiliated with football knows this...if you don't you're kidding yourself. Zac will go back to Dalton Zac and we will be lucky to win 1-2 more games if Burrow is in fact out.

  This defense is horrid

They have to be the worst defense in football. They are horrible against the pass and maybe even worst against the run. Murphy is a complete bust.. This teams problems are way more than just a hurt Burrow...
