Where in the heck did the vertical passing
Disappear to? 4 -5 weeks ago it was stated
Cause of Joe's calf injury he couldn't take deep
Shots. Well 6 games in, this offense only has 3
Pass plays over 20 yds.
The running game hasn't provided any big
Time explosive plays. So that obviously Leaves the passing game to provide the explosive plays
The trouble is the offense is struggling
To generate any big over the top plays
2 years ago big plays was the identity of
This offense. (I know teams are playing 2 deep safeties)
For whatever reason outside of Chase no one is
Separating vertically. Tee Higgins is the most troubling
Last year he was winning one on one vertical throws
But this year it ain't happening ...

If we’re not going to utilize a damn TE, why not start playing with a full back to help Mixon out. I am a Mixon hater, always have been but he was getting around 5 yards a carry constantly putting us in manageable down and distance. This shotgun formation shit has got to stop. Please get him under center, do some PA roll outs etc. the playcalling is brutal. No creativity, no fire, just lethargic looking on offense. Where was Boyd or any WR in the second half. That last drive was maddening. We don’t take shots down the middle either. Always a contested sideline catch that needs yo be scrutinized. Why throw so many sideline passes? Keeping WR’s healthy? I dunno. The amount of low percentage pass catches on 3rd down drives me nuts. Along with the typical 4 yard pass when you need 10 for a first down. Just don’t get it. Why not use some of the D linemen or LBers as a lead blocker on offense from time to time. So far Irv Smith is a major downgrade from Hurst. Hated the move then and still hate it now. Common Zac get your head out your ass and get more creative in offense to get these studs the ball.

Are the Bengals protected by player safety rules or not? |

Counting today that is six times just this season where Burrow has taken a late hit or a blow to the head and the refs did not flag it. And remember the same thing happened in the AFCCG late in the fourth quarter - and had that been caught we likely go to the Super Bowl. How does the team get the NFL to put the refs on notice about this? And don't say it can't be done since it WAS already done this season by the Lions with regards to Jawaan Taylor, illegal formations and false starts. And the NFL DID alert the officials and the result was the very next game Taylor got flagged repeatedly and finally benched over lining up wrong.
Does this team have the guts to do what Detroit did and make it VERY public?

Orlando Brown reinjured his groin. He says he'll be fine after the bye.
Tee Higgins-no rib aggravation should continue to improve physically
no new injuries mentioned so am assuming the usual game induced bumps and bruises

I surmise no one is particularly 100% full of boundless praise about the performance of the team as a collective this season, I dare say even the "optimists" (of which, yes, I am one)...but do we think they can capture the magic again, and take it all the way?
I know there are the usual general discussions and debates, as well as the team-oriented ones, such as is Joe REALLY healthy, etc -- or if it is a coaching issue, because as we all are aware, the right coaches..or the wrong coaches...can make the difference, as well.
Or maybe...a combination of both factors?
Please...let's discuss.

UGLY win but the boyz are back to .500 by handing SEA their 2nd loss of the season. So who we got with the Game Ball moving into the bye? Your choices:
Tyler Boyd: 7 catches, 1 TD
Cody Ford: Replaced Zeus and did fine
Logan Wilson: 10 tackles, 1 Sack
Cameron Taylor-Britt: 7 tackles, 1 INT, 3 PDs
Sam Hubbard: 7 tackles, 1 Game-ending Sack

If you can choose just 1 |

Which on of our lost FA's would you trade a late round pick for?
All should be available via trade given their team. Which player would help stabilize our team with their return?
Who would be key to a late season run?
