Do you think Chase got this from Chad? Do you think he even is aware Chad proclaimed this?
It’s amazing to look back over the last 20 years and realize, while not hall of Famers, we have had some greats at receiver - Chad, AJ, Chase.
Since 2003, those three account for the 9 best total season yards in bengals history.
Since 2003, the bengals have two of the top 26 career receiving leaders in Green and Chad (spending most of their careers here). They would be higher on the list had they been able to hold on to their primes for just a few more seasons, for completely different reasons.

One of the big things that helped the Chiefs get back to and win the Super Bowl last year was their great contributions from their rookie class.
They had a lot of talent leave in FA and needed multiple rookies to step in and impact right away.
With that in mind, let's see how the rookies for the Bengals are doing through ~1/3 of the way through the regular season:
Murphy - 20% of defensive snaps, 21% ST snaps
Turner - 53% of defensive snaps, 37% ST snaps
Battle - 16% of defensive snaps, 70% ST snaps
Jones - 1% of offensive snaps, 13% ST snaps
Brown - 1% of offensive snaps, 34% ST snaps
Iosivas - 14% of offensive snaps, 63% ST snaps
Robbins - 33% ST snaps
Ivey - 0.3% defensive snaps, 9% ST snaps
When it comes to playing time, Turner, Battle, and Iosivas are getting the most snaps percentage-wise.
Jones and Robbins are doing their roles on ST.
Turner is about the only one playing significant snaps on O/D, although Battle might be getting more opportunity here soon.
I would say least impactful for the investment right now is Murphy, but he's been buried on the depth chart.
I'd like to see him get more opportunity over Sample and/or Ossai if they don't start having more of an impact by midseason.
*Tangent*
Right now, the Bengals are tied for 8th in the NFL with 15.0 sacks. Leader is BUF with 21.0 sacks.
Hendrickson is Top 5 in sacks with 6.0.
Hill is quietly on pace to have 8+ sacks on the season (currently 2.5)
Hubbard on track for his typical 6-8.
No other DL is quite closing the deal, as only Murphy and Reader have sacks on the DL, and they have just 1.0 each.

Giving up 6.5 yards per rush, and missing a LOT of tackles I still worry about the state of the Bengals and I still don't think they are at the level we expected from them this season. I don't know why they can't stop the run all the sudden, the only thing I can blame is the poor tackling in the secondary. Battle needs to be starting over that scrub from the Rams I know that much.
The offensive line will face a huge task slowing down Seattle this week, and they have 2 elite corners to slow down Jamar Chase. We still don't know if Tee Higgings will be playing either.
The Bengals looked much better. Burrow looked much better, able to move around, he was shifty in the pocket, making some plays open up and making some runs even. The run game is still lacking, but they need to keep the commitment to the run to keep the defense honest. They finally used the play action to open up the play book and throw the ball down the field like I have been begging for all season.
Hopefully they match up well with Seattle but I just don't know about this game.
3-3 at the bye right now seems like a blessing and I don't know if they can do it. I hope so.

I feel like this guy is every bit as impactful as Geno Atkins was and better overall than Carlos Dunlap, yet we barely talk about him.
28 sacks in 36 games as a Bengal. An average of 12.4 sacks per 16 games. This season, he has 6 sacks and 7 QB hits in only 5 games.
Is it that he wasn't drafted by the Bengals? Or that Joe and Chase take so much of the focus? I feel like we've had some guys on defense that are or should be stars, but they're pretty much afterthoughts. Logan Wilson is another. DJ Reader. Etc.

So what do we know about the 2023 Seahawks:
Offensively they are literally league average (17th Passing, 16th rushing, 19th overall). Defensively they are stout (6th) against the run but porous (31st) against the pass. We are at home and the Seahawks are coming off their bye. We win this and go into the bye 3-3 which beats the heck out of going in 2-4.

Running the ball to move the chains and sustain long drives is more important in the AFC North than in any division in the NFL. It gets cold and slick in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh so it makes sense to run under these conditions as well as when the opposing defense has a credible pass rush — which all of the AFC North teams currently do.
Why then does Cincinnati stand alone in then AFC North with a less than average run game? Yesterday frustrated me immensely watching Joe Mixon get stuffed at the goal line TWICE. 31/32 teams have the push from the offensive line to score from the one yard line. Why not the Bengals?
Yes, I know the NFL is primary a passing league now but sometimes one has to impose one’s will via either side A-gap.

Not enough talk on Boyd - we are getting about nothing from our WR3
Has he regressed? Or due to Burrow Calf issues it's still TBD on whether or not this is an issue?
Current numbers
REGULAR SEASON STATS 23 receptions 34 targets 166 yards
