Just got my tickets to Browns game |

Ticket prices are falling due to the Bengals record. I was able to get some good tickets to the Browns game at Paycor. I'm hoping it is not a meaningless game for either team. You never know with the last game of the season. Also taking a chance on the weather in January. If things don't work out, I'll just eat them. Yum

The effects of losing solid vets to FA. |

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned. If it has, I apologize. Being here in the Florida panhandle I predominantly receive the NFC South, AFC East, and the occasional Jax game. You can bet that the NFC South is on every week. Ts, I've had the opportunity to watch Bates and Bell now more than once. Bates is balling! Bell isn't far behind. Both are contributing greatly to their new teams thus far. Perine is contributing about what we would expect. Hurst is doing Hurst things.
Point I'm trying to make is that losing those kind of locker room vets takes a toll in areas that don't always show up in the stats. I particularly think the loss of Bell and Bates shows. Not knocking Dax or Scott. Dax played great against the Rams. Losing those four players hurt the chemistry a little and losing that vet leadership is currently showing in certain areas of the team.
Not sure that this has been discussed enough.

Burrow's Looking Good And Is About To EXPLODE! |

The first reply to this will be "if he's about to explode, that's not good because we need a quarterback!"
I'm brain damaged and even I know that's an unoriginal and lame response!
Anyways, on to the topic.................
Apparently, Burrow has been looking as good as he has all year and feels as good he has all year!
Quote:"It's the best I've felt after a game, so I'm optimistic," Burrow told reporters.
When asked to clarify what felt better, he attributed that assessment to his improved mobility.
The Cardinals blitz at one of the lowest rates of NFL defenses, so that will obviously help if they stick to that.
Obviously, teams game plan for individual games, but they also don't want to do something that they don't do well, and their secondary is horrible, so blitzing people means less people to help the struggling pass defense, and Burrow could get the ball out quickly to Chase, and I saw Higgins could play Sunday and is listed as questionable!
The line is looking like it's finally figuring things out and could use this game as a confidence boost!
Since Palmer, people have always complained about our slow starts to seasons, but maybe it's just part of the Cinci curse.
Anyways, this could be the game to get us back on track!
WHO-DEY!

The 2 Bengals games at Paycor have resulted in a close loss (27-24 to Ravens) and a close win (19-16 over Rams)
The 2 blowout losses have come on the road.
This weeks game is at Arizona, and the Bengals historically play bad out west.
However, IF they can somehow eek out a win (can't believe I have to type that) they can return to the friendly confines of home and hopefully pick up another win.
Not gonna lie though, having all this doubt really sucks after the last 2 seasons.

Empty sets and other gripes |

Ok, so the entire world, at this point, knows Joe Burrow has the mobility of a fire hydrant. He can probably put up a 6.25 forty right now, I can probably out run him. He's like the statue of Liberty in the pocket.
So why? In the name of several curse words are we running empty sets? When opposing D's see this they're watering at the mouth like a pack of lions seeing a wildebeest limping across the African plain.
Why in the hell do we for all intents and purposes abandon the run game after the 1st qtr? Why are we not running more pistol formation?
Why do our RB's not named Joe Mixon only have 4 carries thus far this season?
I've tried hard to not put a lot of blame on ZT and BC on our offensive issues because Burrow is limited of course. But I'm switching thinking a good bit.
Is the reason we don't run at all after first couple series because ZT and co. don't call it? Or is JB audibling out of runs? Is the reason we still run open sets (a good bit) because JB wants it/demands it?
The point I'm probably doing a bad job of making is perhaps it's time for ZT to grow a spine and tell JB this is how it's going to be. Protect Joe from Joe and maybe just maybe our chances of winning a game will go up as well.
