I'm hoping next week we have quick results like 2022 with Karras and Cappa right out of the gate, but I'm bracing myself for disappointment. Who would be your guess for the first FA the Bengals might sign? I would love for it to be one of Nick Bolton, Josh Sweat or Milt Williams, but i think it will be Will Fries!

Hubbard retiring. Clears more cap space.

Thanks for a good career, Sam.

could be worth a look if Hill not brought back.   His PFF grades for 2023 and 2024 were 61.7 and 54.3, respectively.

  Cap Tracker
Posted by: Luvnit2 - 03-03-2025, 06:02 PM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (93)

Over the cap Spotrac has Bengals at 43.9 million left after Cappus and Rankins cuts and Tee being tagged. It also has Chase's 5th year option of 21,6 million factored in.
This also includes our 6 draft picks salaries.

The good news is we have others that may be cut. A Hubbard cut nets us 9.5 million for example or if he restructures and will play for less. Burrow can also restrructure and give us more cap space.

Let's use this thread to update as our roster evolves in FA.

I am happy Bengals cut Rankins and now Cappa. Cappa was the 64th rated OG in 2024 and was nt much better in 2023. We need that money to replace him.

I know some of you don't get over to the Draft Forum, so Imma put this here as an invite.

We've done a "board picks mock" up to the Bengal's first selection.

  The Raiders Are Shopping Mayer!
Posted by: BFritz21 - 03-01-2025, 12:18 AM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (71)

The Raiders are trying to get rid of Mayer!

Quote:The Raiders are shopping Mayer on the trade market, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.

Following a decorated college career at Notre Dame, Mayer was selected No. 35 overall in the 2023 Draft by Las Vegas. He caught 27 passes for 304 yards and two touchdowns as a rookie, but the Raiders then used their first-rounder on Brock Bowers in 2024. Mayer appeared in just 11 games last season, and his playing time took a hit when he was available. He finished the season with 21 catches for 156 scoreless yards, and the Raiders appear to be willing to move him after just two years.

He hasn't had the chance to really break out because Bower came in after his rookie year but he'd kill it with Burrow throwing him the ball!

It would also open up our draft a lot!

Trade them Higgins for Mayer and a 4th or 5th rounder.

Lucky for us he didn't do well for them but I think he could be really good with us.

  Goodbye Mike?

Read an article this morning on MSN (don't see it now or I would link it) that the plan this year is to put Dax Hill in the slot. Does that mean Hilton is not going to be re-signed? I sure would hate to see him go, I know he's not that great in some situations but he is a brilliant blitzer and tackler.
