I'm leaving to go to the gym soon (I just got back from my gym but my friend wants me to go with him because he wants me to join, but why would I join a gym two miles away when I can just roll across the street to my gym daily?), so I can't search for the actual Tweet on his page, but I just got this Tweet from Dan Orlovsky that has Joe Burrow's ranks when his o-line wins in the last two seasons:
72% completion percentage (1st in NFL)
9.4 YPA (1st)
41% 1st downs (1st)
114.4 passer rating (1st)
This is UNREAL!
I know our line is improved but it's still a question mark in my mind. It's obviously not as big of a question mark as years past, but I'd still just rather have it more improved.
Think if we can get quality veteran lineman to come here for the chance to win and just because they know they'll have stability here, we could be looking at a dynasty!
You might think it's wishful thinking, but look at the numbers! It's a passing league now!
WHO-DEY!

Sadly, Jay Morrison, after 5 years, was part of The Athletic's layoffs today. It looks like Paul Dehner will be covering the team solo for that publication.
Jay was always the man with the stats regardless of how obscure they are

| Where Should Bengals QB Room Rank? |

PFT is ranking the QB rooms from head coach, OC, and QB coach, down to the starters and backups. They are doing 1 rank per day (gotta have off-season content). #1 was today and was the Chiefs.
So looking at the totality of the room from Zac to Brian Callahan to Dan Pitcher to JoeyB and backups Trevor Siemean and Jake Browning where do you think the Bengals will land?
Zac-generally ranked 12-16 among head coaches and former QB himself
Brian-Head Coach candidate, former coach for Peyton Manning, Matthew Stafford, and Derek Carr. Worked for QB gurus Gary Kubiak and Jon Gruden. former QB himself
Dan Pitcher-former QB and OC candidate
JoeyB-goes without saying
Trevor Siemean-huge upgrade over Brandon Allen-one of the top backups in the league
Jake Browning
I think we will land #3. San Francisco may land above us even if their entire QB room is still iffy for the season due to injuries.

| DJ Reader estimated extension value (per Sportrac) |

I can't say I disagree with where Sportrac has him valued. Let's just hope that the team can find a way to make it happen without it costing any other valuable veterans spot on the roster in the process.
https://bengalswire.usatoday.com/2023/06/05/bengals-dj-reader-projected-market-value-contract-extension/
Quote:Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle D.J. Reader is a good extension candidate after three solid seasons with the team.
With so many possible extension candidates on the offensive side in Joe Burrow, Tee Higgins, and Ja’Marr Chase, the Bengals will need to secure some talent defensively as well and Reader could be the guy they start with.
He will be a free agent after this season, and Spotrac has his market value set at a three-year deal and almost $48 million with an average annual value of about $15.9 million.
Based on their age, contract status and stats, Spotrac compares Reader to Grady Jarrett, Davon Godchaux, D.J. Jones and Maliek Collins.
Reader has managed to accumulate 89 tackles in 30 games in his three years with the Bengals and while he would be entering his age-30 season in 2024, he could still be a big help on the defensive side of the ball.
