So can we start talking about the Rams? |

Bengals hold a 7-5 edge all-time against the Rams. 4-2 at home.
We have won the last two games in the series, most recently 20-13 at St. Louis in 2011.
This year the Rams offense is horrid (31st in both points and yards). Rookie RB Todd Gurly look like Jim Brown over his first four starts (141.5 yards per game and 6.4 avg), but has come back to earth over his last 3 games (66.7 yards per game and 3.3 avg). He can still be very dangerous if we don't tackle, but their passing game is so pathetic we should be able to key on stopping him.
Their defense is decent (10th in points, 12th in yards), and they have one of the best lines in the league. They are 16th in rush yards allowed, but 8th in yards per carry allowed (3.8). Their pass defense is 9th in yards allowed, but 14th in pass efficiency. They are 5th in sacks.
This is a game we should win if we just take care of business and don't make a bunch of stupid mistakes.

With Dennard's aparently season ending shoulder injury the word on the street is that Ogbuehi is expected to be activated. We have until Monday to make the decision on him and Sean Porter. Part of me is saying great lets see what that first round draftpick does but with all the dings on defense on Monday there is that idea that maybe we would be better off adding Porter. But he's a linebacker not a CB...but he can play the Lamur role on passing downs. At this point in the season Ogbuehi is not an upgrade over either OT, he should be an upgrade over Winston as a back-up...if he has picked up schemes.

Question For Everyone |

We've had two consecutive poor performances by the Bengals as a whole. Im not calling out anyone because they all blew it these past two weeks. My question is simply this:
Do they learn from these past two weeks and improve as a result or do they continue down the same path as they have in previous years and end up committing the same mistakes?

Last Night's Penalty Was BULLSHIT! |

Regardless if Peko did it or not (which I don't think he did), it's a field goal, so THERE IS NO SNAP COUNT ON FIELD GOALS!!
The holder looks back at the kicker, the kicker nods that he's ready, the holder puts his hand out, and the snapper snaps him the ball!!
How could Peko be simulating something that doesn't even exist?!
Somebody write the NFL and explain this!

Bruce Arians slams the Bengals...
"they have a history of mimicking snap counts"...
Whatever Bruce. I don't see us getting false start calls enough to warrant such attach on the players character.
Only one thing worse than a sore loser....... A sore winner.

Week 9 of 2013 - Bengals @ Dolphins on Thursday night football.
1:35 left in the game - tied at 17. Bengals in FG range and 3rd with 4 to go. Dolphins have 1 time out left.
A 1st down basically wins the game, if not, then the Dolphins have to take their final TO to stop the clock.
So what do the play callers make?
A right, deep pass to Sanu. Inc.
Stops the clock and now 4th down.
We kick the go ahead FG giving us a 20 -17 advantage. However there is still 1:24 on the clock and Miami still has 1 TO left.
1st and 10, we sack Tannehill for a HUGE loss- Great under normal circumstances, not great for us, since Miami took their final TO, stopping the clock with 1:11 left.
OK - so we have a young QB in 2nd and long, no TO left and another sack or more pressure and we get either an errant throw or a quick completion that is stopped for little to no gain.
Instead - we play prevent - the young QB hits for a big gain - not big enough to convert, but big enough to make it 3rd and a yard. Tannehill was able to march his team into FG range and kick the FG to tie it up at 20 - 20. Goes into OT, where after an exchange of possessions, Dalton is sacked in the EZ for a safety, giving the Dolphins the win.
Last night - pretty much the same thing. 3rd and 2, they have no TOs - a run play even without a conversion would have eaten up a lot of clock. A FG ties it, putting us in OT with a chance to win. A conversion secures the clock being ran out, with 2 more chances to throw the ball. Not only that, but we had 2 TOs to work with. I am all for going for the win, but not at the expense of poor situational football. Kill the clock or convert and have 2 more pass attempts to score a TD as well as killing the clock. I will still take 8-2 at this point in the season, so I am not beating up on the team too much. However, I really wish someone would remind whoever is in charge, that in these situations, you have to play situational football. Even if Green had scored there, we now are giving the Cardinals a chance to win, by not killing the clock.
