No doubt, that loss hurt on a couple of levels.
Time to get over it and move on.
The team is 8 and 1 and has a challenging game this week.
As much as I hated to see us lose to the Texans again, it will mean absolutely nothing if this team goes to the playoffs and wins a game. It will mean even less if we go on to win the Super Bowl.
Screw the Texans... bring on the Cardinals!

A lot of you people need a reality check.. I've told myself don't even read post after a loss cause I know what is coming.. Some of you have to be fans of other teams and just bashing.. It sucks we lost yes but geezz get a grip this is the NFL.. off night Yes.. I don't care it was Monday Night Game... the play was horrendous but what is more horrendous is some of these post... We talk about other Fan Bases but really we need to put ourselves in check.. Some people are just bashing to be bashing it seems.. Off night for sure it happens it is the NFL.. Some of the the post are just ridiculous as if one lost and the season is over.. give me a break.. if you don't have that much faith then please exit the building... Everyone listen to the media a bit to much... Andy Can't win on the Big Stage Ray Lewis was saying it made me question was he even watching the game, in his comparing to Tom Brady and Andy.. it was not Andy's fault the throws were on.. on the last drive... We sucked yes, but I have a feeling we are coming to play next week.. I spoke my peace on this Game and truly believe we will win the next one.. The night was not a total loss we got to see a nice belly rubdown from Peko..

As much as I hate to say it, but Gio has been far more productive. IDK why Jackson has such a hard on for Hill anymore. I get that this is the time of year when an identity on offense is supposed to form, but I don't see Hill in it.
Gio is good enough to make opposing defenses stop the run, which would make it that much easier for the red ryder crew to do their thing.

It seems when ever we face a team that has a significant contributor here ex J - Jo last night. This week it will be Gresh we seem to struggle because opponents tend to know our tendencies and concepts better than the rest this isn't as much of an issue for us as it would be for most because most of our players stay here. It should be addressed by coaching staff at some point.

I was hesitant to come on these boards after last night. Somehow I knew people would be talking about the 8-1 Bengals like they were 3-6.
We don't need to make excuses. We lost. We didn't play well on offense. Penalties and drops were the story of the game. Dalton did what he could, and missed a few throws. The overthrow on the deep ball has been rare this year.. not sure he even saw Joseph.
If you think about it, the Texans had a pretty good deal. They got a bye week in which the team they were going against after the bye played Thursday night. That means they had an extra 3 days to dissect the most recent film on our offense. They did a good job. Their corners played a hell of a game. The Texans D was supposed to be one of the best defenses in the league this year, and they showed it last night.
While its unfortunate we lost to the Texans on, heaven forbid, a primetime stage, its not the end of the season.
When we win, they say we need to do it in the playoffs, and the wins don't matter. The same goes for when we lose... it doesn't matter until the playoffs.
Brush this loss off, move on, and lets get to the playoffs... regular season wins don't matter to Bengal detractors, and regular season losses shouldn't either.
The good news is we are still easily the 2nd seed in the AFC. Let's face it, to get to the superbowl we will need to win a game at home, and win a game in Foxboro, there just isn't any other way.

Game Goat, Texans Game |

We will start a new tradition today (and hopefully a short-lived one). As most people know I do a Game Ball poll each week. Last year I did it for losses as well; and for the most part, folks were not fans. So this year we will try something different. We will give out a goat for a loss.
Don’t view this as an attempt to slam to team. Vote for who you think performed the worst in the loss. As with the game balls I will not nominate coaches or teams.
So who gets the 1st ever game goat:
ANDY DALTON- Attempted 38 passes; only completing 22 for under 200 yards and 0 TDs. Long ball was especially off.
JEREMY HILL- Rushed for only 15 yards at 2.1 YPC.
AJ GREEN- Only 5 catches for 65 yards and a game ending fumble
TYLER EIFERT- When did Daniel Coats turn into a white TE? Only 3 catches on 7 targets.
ERIC WINSTON- JJ Watt’s latest punching bag.
REY MAUALUGA- Our MLB had only 2 tackles and Chris Polk’s foot print on his chest.

The Bengals lost...they didn't get beat badly |

I keep hearing and reading how the Bengals got beat badly and that's just not the case...they lost by 4 points in a low scoring game, not by 30 without scoring a point.
I do fear a first round bye in the playoffs though since this team, this organization has so much trouble whenever they have more than 6 days between games. They always come out flat, make all kinds of mistakes and don't play all that well.
Oh well, time to refocus and kick some butt starting with the Cardinals. Time to set a new record and go 10-0!!!

Reasons we lost |

1 We had a mini bye. unlike most teams we come out flat and not clicking off of a bye
2 We had a huge game against Cards next Sunday night. we looked past Texans and were not completely focused on our opponent.
3 officiating was terrible lots of phantom penalties
4 no Andre Smith Winston was repeatedly beat like a revolving door on offense
5 The Texans wanted it more you tend to become the hunted when your undefeated

But now the REAL season can start. This team operates best as underdogs. So we shoudl all want the media to pile on and lose faith in us. Embrace the people who hopped off the bandwagon. We lost to a team who was desperate and treated this game like their superbowl. These losses simply just happen. I mean cmon the Cavs just lost to the shitty Jazz last week.
The AFC goes through Cincy and New England this year and the regular season will finish like that. I actually had this as a lose when we were like 6-0. While it sucks being right on this one i also only have us losing one more game all season against PITT and if that happens we still are 14-2 and easily get a bye.
So cheer up, every dog gets its day. Funny thing is the Texans divison sucks so bad they are winning it right now. I dont think a team winning a division at 3-5 has any thing to say to a team whose 8-1.
