This one hasn't formerly been announced but is on the Bengals transaction report from 5/14. What the changes are will be interesting to watch. Every season of the contract thus far has ended up with him getting performance-based enhancers because of his playing time. But logic says he had to have taken a pay cut. He was due to make $3.8 million with minimal dead money
The odds are this means he is likely to be on the team

Re-negotiated the contract of G Cordell Volson.
Ok. I need to take a break from the bashing and do something a little different. Some of you may start thinking that i don't actually like the team. I'm sure we've done this before, but i'd like to know why and when you became a Bengals fan.
I've told this story before but it's been a while and i'm sure we have new people over the last couple years. So here's littly Ricky's story...
Back in 1978 i was 12 years old and me and my friends were just getting into sports seriously. Playing around the neighborhood and watching pro and college sports on TV. At the time, my Uncle worked at Barleycorn's downtown and it just so happened that Bengals players would hang out there on Friday nights before home games. My dad had told me this and on this particular Friday, i asked him to bring me some autographs to show off to my friends. So, the next morning i wake up, eat some cereal and sit down to watch Saturday morning cartoons. That's what we did back in the day. Anyway, i'm sitting there and i think, "hmm, that was a pretty cool dream last night...wait, was it a dream?". So i get up and go back in my room and there on top of the dresser was an NFL football and a signed pic of Gary Burley. Not only that, my dad said i had 2 tickets to the upcoming home game against the Falcons.
Now, any of you that know the history of the Bengals, know they weren't very good in the late 70s. At that particular time, the Bengals were 1-12 with their only win coming against Houston earlier in the season. The football that was sitting on top of my dresser just happened to be a game ball that Gary Burley had received for getting 4 sacks in Houston the week before, in a loss (they got game balls even in losses back then), and he just kept it in his trunk.
So, i go to the game with my Uncle, the one that worked at Barleycorn's and low and behold, the Bengals win their 2nd game of the year 37-7 and go on an OG DCB. The Falcons had been fighting for a playoff spot at the time at 8-5. After the game, me and another kid got to ride in Burley's cadillac on the way to get something to eat with my Uncle and a couple other players (who i don't recall right now).
I've been hooked ever since. NFL football is my #1 sport to watch, bar none. I love college basketball too but not nearly as much as NFL football and as fate would have it...i bleed orange and black, despite my distaste for who owns and runs the organization.
For those interested, here is that game, with little Ricky sitting in some end zone seats, taking in all the action.
I was able to call into the Lance McCallister show some time back when he had Burley as a guest and related this story to him.
He's asking every CB on the roster to play both slot and boundary, which is great for every CB to be completely familiar with the responsibilities of every role in a coverage scheme and understanding how they all work together as a unit.
Quote:New Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Al Golden is adding a new wrinkle to the secondary this offseason.
That's already showing up at spring workouts, too, as cornerbacks coach Charles Burks puts Golden's overarching plan into action.
According to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com, every cornerback able to participate so far is working both the boundary positions and the slot.
"With a new scheme, you want those guys to understand the big picture of what and why it's being coached," Burks said, per Hobson. "Everybody in that room is going to have experience playing multiple positions. It's about building a defensive back, not a position."
That means guys like DJ Turner will get reps at both spots and even someone such as sophomore Josh Newton will get outside reps while projecting as a possible long-term replacement for Dax Hill.
Hill is the most notable, even though he's working back slower than most due to last year's injury. There's been some debate and speculation about where he might ultimately line up in the secondary, but he certainly has the versatility for both.
This time of year, though, helping players get more reps in a way that helps them be more versatile on the field can, if nothing else, prove useful in emergency situations.
I don't think it's anyone that moves the needle, or will make the 53, but a "visit" seems more official than it's needed this time of the year when typically you just hear they've signed some one (when it's just a camp body).
Wish it was a Guard or Safety. But maybe they aren't finished with free agency after all.
Not anyone that is going to bring pressure from the DT position, but may have history with new DL coach.
I thought it might be fun to take a look at the opposing QB's we face and their ability to beat us? I'm hoping we get up near the middle of the pack on team D. So it's going to take an opposing QB and offense that can put up points (assuming our O is clicking) to beat us.
So, my take worst to first:
14. BROWNS - what a cluster **** Who knows who the starter will be? I'm just gonna guess K. Pickett but none of the other half dozen fill me with fear.
13. VIKINGS - J.J. McCarthy There's articles out there claiming he's going to light up the NFL this season. He's going to have to show me.
12 STEELERS - Another cluster. Is Rodgers going there? if he actually does they move up a bit. But Rodgers is old and a giant head case so not a lot, in my book. Otherwise M. Rudolph and that isn't a lot either.
11. PATRIOTS - D. Maye Hard to say what he is or isn't yet?
10. JETS - J. Fields I know he was handicapped in Chicago but still his ability to lift a team to the 30 point scoring even with Wilson, umm....
9. CARDINALS - K. Murray, his high TD total is 26 in 2020 and he's just never really proven he's much above average.
8. BEARS - C. Williams Had some decent games last year but nothing that screams he'll beat your ass.
7. BRONCOS - Bo Nix Overall really good season last year but I'm just hesitant to rank a guy with one year under his belt very high.
6. PACKERS - J. Love The media has been in love with him at times. I'm not convinced yet that he's a true game changer
5. DOLPHINS - T. Tagovailoa Has just been all over the map. Looks like a great one for 3 or 4 games then hits the wall a game or two. But when they're clicking he's a tough out.
4.JAGS - T. Lawrence Same as Tua
3. LIONS - J. Goff veteran QB who can beat you
2. RAVENS - L. Jackson wins regular season games galore then folds like a pup tent in playoffs
1. BILLS - Josh Allen needs nothing said
We play the Browns and Steelers twice of course so that should be at least 3 wins. Ravens, Bills, and Lions are only teams with true upper tier QB's in my book. There's 3-5 teams in the middle with bubble QB's.
I'd say we're a 12 win team based on QB's we're facing
