Passing scheme is average at best.

This chart reveals:

X.  Average Receiver Separation (X Axis).
The big difference is how much Separation receivers actually have.  Joe & Jake are basically in the same offense, the difference is likely due to Joe's arm strength, timing, accuracy and ball-placement.

Y.  Throws to an Open Receiver (Y Axis).

Only a slight difference between Burrow and Browning when it comes to throwing to an open receiver.
It is concerning how middle of the road we are even with Burrow. The Ravens could not have schemed any better, major reversal for them.

Separation isn't a WR metric, but it is a Scheme and QB metric.

Sorry the last map thread of the 2023 season is late...it has been a very bad week.

Ohio gets the game...that is about it though our Kentucky crew should be ok

https://506sports.com/nfl.php?yr=2023&wk=18

announcers are Tom McCarthy, James Lofton and Jay Feely

referee is: Alan Eck. He has never worked a Bengals game as referee. He worked last seasons KC game as umpire

Both guys were named to the Pro Bowl. I also expect both of them to bow out due to injuries

Browns resting starters, should we do the same?
Posted by: Luvnit2 - 01-03-2024, 04:17 PM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (42)

I understand Browns are giving their starters a week off to rest and also as important to avoid injuries.

Should we risk our core players playing Sunday to avoid a major injury that could impact the 2024 season?

I say hell yes, sit them, run vanilla offenses and defenses like a pre season game.

A win against a team not playing their starters gets a big time asterisk next to it, why risk it.

  Sam Hubbard needs Surgery

In a blurb hidden in the Hobson story there is a comment from Sam that he needs off-season surgery due to an undisclosed injury. I'm assuming it may be the ankle hurt during the Buffalo game

  Joe Burrow ranks dead last...
Posted by: WeezyBengal - 01-02-2024, 06:42 PM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (26)

On intended air yards per pass attempt. Basically, how far we are throwing the ball down the field per attempt. I'm not sure what this means to be honest, but I found it shocking Burrow was ranked dead last in the league.

I think QB maturity comes into play a lot here (not forcing throws, checking down to the flat and taking what the defense gives you), but man...you'd like to see us attempt to throw the ball down field more, right? I just found it ineresting.

  Go Bengals, Beat The Browns
Posted by: kevin - 01-02-2024, 05:10 PM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (42)

I don't care no play-offs. I don't care about draft position. Bengals did win 3 games with Browning. Win one more. In THE JUNGLE. BEAT THE BROWNS. It would mean 9 wins so a winning season in spite of no Burrow or no Higgins most of season, but even if Bengals had no wins, I would still say BEAT THE BROWNS.

GO Browning. GO BENGALS. Beat Cleveland.

Glass half full...from a normally glass half empty guy... future outlook
Posted by: 740Bengal - 01-02-2024, 02:24 PM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (20)

For the Bengals to play the way they did with Jake Browning and the injuries we dealt with this season, this gives me great hope moving forward if we can keep 9 heathy and continue to build the offensive line. Chase Brown is the back of the future and I also think Yoshi can step up with the probably imminent departure of Tyler Boyd... I think the Bengals tag Higgins and we put all of our chips on the table to make a run at a Lombardi next season in New Orleans(storybook). I think Lou's defense this season(not his fault) will allow us to possibly retain him as well, just need Zac to continue to improve(he has) as a playcaller and the Bengals will be right back in the mix next season! I also believe Burrow being out was a blessing in disguise possibly for him mentally, he could step back and see the offense with Browning, with the less audibles etc.
