Burrow terrible down the field

Hold on there, pardner.  Put AD, at any stage of his career, in what we've had going on this year, without a young, studly AJ as a security blanket, and tell me what his numbers or his record would be.

I think he just checks the box score for Burrow. Because it’s hard for me to believe anyone that actually watches him could be anything less than extremely impressed.
I think he is watching no Herbert just his highlights. If he watched him he would see he is playing like a rookie. Great plays followed by what the hell was that plays.

Damn I forgot about the one getting on the kid for smoking a cigar indoors. LMAO

This is clearly about more than just missing a few deep balls...

Herbert nearly just hung 40 on Tampa. Until today Tampa was an NFL top 5 defense. I watched the entire game. He played well enough for his team to get a win, especially  considering he lost Eckler about five plays in; his defense did not.

Both kids are playing about as well as anyone could expect of them. I will reiterate, Herbert played well enough for his team to win today, period.

What I havent seen.is the YAC out of these WRs.
I think Gio.has the only pass play over 35 plus yards.
You.would figure 4 games in at least one WR would
Have a catch and run over 40 yds.

And Tee Higgins is starting to worry me with his hands. Feels like at least a couple every game so far that he should have had.

He's a rookie man... Higgins that is. Yeah he's dropping balls he shouldn't, but he's only a couple games in, and that lack of preseason is real. He looks a lot like DK Metcalf did this time last year. As the year rolls on he's gonna be contributing more and more. In a year or two; look out! I'm thrilled with the pick.
I'm gonna break every record they've got. I'm tellin' you right now. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but it's goin' to get done.

And there you have it.

100% proof he's been biased against him, dating back to at least January.

PS I love how he started a thread last week called Burrow vs. Herbert, and then pretty much created the same exact thread, just with a different title this time.  As if somehow, between this week and last, people would want to have this discussion again, after seeing Burrow throw for 300 yards in his first win.  He's going to beat this horse into a small pile of dust at this rate.

And Burrow has played well enough, even in his first game, to win every game this season.

This isn't directed at you coach, but at OP.

Agreed. If Dalton, even in his prime, we’re QBing this current team, there is zero doubt they’d be 0-4 right now. And Dalton would very likely have more than one pick, far fewer than 6TD’s and would have taken a hell of a lot more sacks at this point.

Burrow is already better than Dalton. I thought that was obvious to everyone.

Oh I’m for sure happy with the pick. Tee is definitely showing flashes every week.

I'll take what he's showing 3 games into a career all day long.  He looks like a guy that can definitely play at the NFL level and play well.

No doubt. Just saying, if we’re getting on the QB (also a rookie) for deep balls not being absolutely perfect I think it’s fair to point out there’s been some drop issues as well.

I mean at least people waited until week 8 to start shitting on Dalton; Burrow can't even get to the bye before people are turning on him.

Best part of all this.

Burrow has been historically good in his first 4 games, can not even compare them to Andy (Andy laid one of his famous 40 Passer Rating games in game 3 of his rookie year)

And the Bengals gave 18M to AJ, to be Burrows #1 weapon. He is more like a #4 WR

And they could have not brought back a 3 year injured WR, and bought an OT like Jack Conklin for 3-4 years at 14M/Year. Then just released bobby hart and Gio, and the net increase to the payroll would have been like -12Mill

It takes two...who is generating separation downfield?  It sure as hell isn't Green.

Essex. Joe isn't going to read this thread. You being a hardass will have NO IMPACT on Burrow's development going forward.
Go Benton Panthers!!

Im not crazy about the design and usage of the route tree
To.this point.have not seen.too many sluggo routes
Or double moves or even out and ups.
Still.waiting to.see some back shoulder throws

Burrow has been brilliant. Bengal fans have no reason to worry about what Justin Herbert does. Dolphin fans are the ones who have to be nervous that Tua may have been the wrong pick.
