We all know Tee, Tyler, and Ja'Marr are locks. But who are the other 3 or 4 that make the team ?
Rookies list:
Malachi Carter #88 6' 2" 191 lbs. Georgia Tech
Mac Hippenhammer #14 5' 11' 177 lbs. Miami (Ohio)
Andrei Iosivas #80 6'3" 212 lbs. Princeton
Shedrick Jackson #12 6'1" 195 lbs. Auburn
Charlie Jones #15 6'0" 188 lbs. Purdue
Vets:
Trenton Irwin #16 6'2" 200 lbs. 4th season
Kwamie Lassiter II #18 5'11' 185 1st season
Stanley Morgan #17 6' 205 lbs. 5th season
Trent Taylor #11 5'8" 181 6th season
As it does every year the #'s 4,5,6, and 7 (if there is a 7) come down to special teams. Right now they have 1st team PR Trent Taylor, 2nd Charlie Jones. KR 1st team Chris Evans 2nd Charlie Jones.
Who makes the final cut here will be very interesting.

I wasn't all that bothered by his performance (or lack thereof) in the pre-season debut.
But finding out he's been less than impressive in camp is concerning.
If he can't make any noise against our 2nd string OL in a practice setting, that's not good.
I am not panicking - not calling him a bust. But he's not in the 8 man rotation and likely would be inactive if a real game was coming this weekend.
He'd better show some goods against the Falcons or these whispers will become roars.
(Bengals/Tigers "roar," so that's a clever thing I did up there ^^^)

ESPN Doesn't Have Our Line As Our Biggest Weakness! |

I know that ESPN's not the end-all be-all, but they listed the biggest weaknesses for 14 playoff contenders, and ours is NOT our offensive line, but rather our secondary:
Quote:Like the Eagles, Cincinnati is trying to adjust to its new economic reality on the fly. In the process, it has had to let veterans leave. Eli Apple, Jessie Bates, Vonn Bell and Tre Flowers all left in free agency this offseason. That's more than 3,100 combined defensive snaps from last season scattering around the NFL.
There are players here to try to replace those lost veterans. Nick Scott, who emerged during Los Angeles' run to the Super Bowl in 2021, signed a low-cost deal to take over one starting safety spot. Dax Hill, a first-round pick in 2022 who played 131 snaps as a rookie, will be the other starter. Mike Hilton returns in the slot, and Taylor-Britt got better as his rookie season went along. Rookie second-rounder DJ Turner could see time in his debut season and profiles as the likely long-term replacement for Hilton.
The biggest difference-maker might not be any of those guys. Chidobe Awuzie was playing at an All-Pro level last season before tearing the ACL in his right knee in November. The former Cowboys corner had been a revelation since joining the Bengals in free agency, raising his game in 2021 and then again even higher in 2022. If the Awuzie who comes back is the guy who was allowing a 53.4 passer rating in coverage before his injury, the Bengals should be fine. If he's battling to stay on the field as he recovers from the torn ligament in his knee, there will be real questions about whether this secondary can hold up to the passing attacks it'll face in the playoffs.
First of all, our secondary might not be that proven of a unit, especially not together, but that makes it sound like it's more of a question mark rather than a weakness, especially if we can get a pass rush with Hubbard, Hendrickson, Ossai, and Murphy on the ends, and then even Hill and Reader from defensive tackle.
If our offensive line isn't our biggest weakness, I think we can win every game because Burrow's has proven he can lead us deep in the playoffs with basically no offensive line.
I didn't use my usual exclamation marks, but I'm pumped up about this and it's giving me even more hope going into this season!

ESPN "Ranking top 10 QBs by trait" Article |

ESPN published an article today that ranked the QBs in the NFL based on their traits (top 10 strongest arms, top 10 most accurate etc).
There are 10 traits that are considered:
Arm strength
Accuracy
Touch
Mechanics
Field vision
Decision-making
Compete level and toughness
Pocket Presence
Rushing ability
Second reaction
Before reading on, I want you to just take a guess how many Burrow made the top 10 in.
Okay, the answer is 8 (you can probably guess which two he didn't make the top 10).
Even more than that, he is in 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in 7 of those 8 categories.
If you have ESPN+, this was an enjoyable article to read:
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/38151402/nfl-quarterback-council-2023-ranking-top-10-traits
Here are a few snips of the three traits he ranked #1 in.
Accuracy:
Quote:Best of the best: Speak with NFL defensive coaches about Burrow, and the first thing they mention is his ball placement. What jumps off the game tape, they say, is that Burrow not only invariably places the ball in good windows for receivers to attempt to make a play on it, but he also has a knack of delivering passes with ideal touch on every throw in the route tree. That combination regularly leaves defenses frustrated. And Rodgers -- entering his 19th season -- is No. 2 behind Burrow because, more often than not, he still puts receivers in a great position to succeed. -- Jason Reid
Touch:
Quote:Best of the best: There are ways to generally quantify touch, as Burrow's career completion percentage of 68.2% tells part of the story. But touch is about more than that, as Burrow has an uncanny ability to blend accuracy, velocity, trajectory and feel that leads to making throws into tight windows look far easier than they actually are to complete. -- Yates
Mechanics:
Quote:Best of the best: Burrow's completion percentages in each of his first three NFL seasons speak for themselves: 65.3%, 70.4% and 68.3%. But the foundation of those sparkling numbers is Burrow's nearly flawless mechanics. His footwork on drops, his arm angles on throws, his throwing delivery -- Burrow is a model of efficiency at all of it. And although Rodgers comes in at No. 2 on the list, he might be the greatest of all time in this area and remains masterful. -- Jason Reid

Given that Bates and Bell each played 98+% of the snaps last year, and Michael Thomas player th e 3rd highest special teams snaps last year, what does Tycen Anderson have to do to make this team?

-I've had DirectTV for many years
-I want to ditch it b/c I don't watch any regular TV anymore
-I live in Cincinnati
-I don't want to miss any Bengals games.
-I thought I read that NFL ticket moved to YT TV?
Do I need either one?
Thanks in advance!
