  Can anybody tell me why?
Posted by: bengalfan74 - 10-07-2024, 12:52 PM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (139)

Why did we decide lets just kick a 50+ yard FG to try and win it?

We ran three offensive plays after we recovered the fumble at the Ravens 37 and got all the way down to the 35 Shocked

We ran all 3 plays from heavy sets. And not a single pass despite JB having an outstanding day!! On the 1st play the Ravens have 9 defenders in the box. Everyone of them crashes to the LOS at the snap. J. Chase has a very soft coverage.

A half second after the snap there's a wiidddddeeeeee open middle of the field. If Chase runs a quick slant and it was a play action fake to Brown it's probably a TD. At a minimum a good gain. Of course JB would have to throw quickly.

I just can't understand why you have Joe Burrow for crying out friggin loud! And the coaches say screw that, put the Lamborghini away, lets get out the Honda civic and just get a couple yards a try a long FG.

And this isn't the first time ZT and Co. have been guilty of this. ML 2.0

  Defensive Issues
Posted by: THE PISTONS - 10-06-2024, 11:40 PM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (30)

To me, the defensive issues aren't scheme. The line is bad
This hurts LB play. And the safeties are slow and bad. And our CBs are young and not that good CTB shouldn't be a #1 CB.

We miss Reader and Bates.

Our defensive draft picks haven't worked out.

Carter was a 3rd Round pick. Waived.

Murphy, Hill, etc are mediocre so far.

We blitz, we get beat with throws. We don't blitz, we get no pressure.

Then, we can't stop the run so we have to play 1 dimensional guys like Guy that get no rush.

I'm not a fan of Lou, but there's only so much you can do when your talent level is bad.

Everyone Talks about Lou and Zac but this guy continues to get a free pass. It seems to me that the special teams is making way to many mistakes and has arguably cost us two games this season.

  Mims Injury

He said he was kicked n the scar from his previous surgery. The kick set off nerve shocks.

I have 25 year old knee scars that still react that way. It is a very disconcerting feeling. It is difficult to determine if you’re injured or just in pain at first.

He should be ok for next week

No official word on Dax. Zac didn’t say much in his press conference but he didn’t sound optimistic that it was minor

Honor In Defeat The Way Bengals Played Ravens
Posted by: kevin - 10-06-2024, 10:12 PM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (15)

Odds Makers had this the TILT of the week, Baltimore was suppose to beat Bengals worse than they beat Buffalo. Instead it went into Overtime. Announcers said it was the best NFL game by both teams so far this year. Ravens could have won, Bengals could have won, but Ravens won on a field goal in overtime. Those who bet on the Bengals getting clobbered lost money.

Some of you may not buy into honor in defeat. However I thought Bengals played Kansas City and Baltimore tough. I wish Bengals had won, and I feel bad they lost. However I'm NOT ashamed of Bengals. They played a good game against a tough team today. Those saying to blow this team up and rebuild, I disagree. That was a good Bengals team out there today.

Burrow Will Want Out Of Cincy At Some Point
Posted by: GodFather - 10-06-2024, 08:22 PM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (74)

Joe Burrow is a top 3 QB in this league no question and with the product the front office is giving him will wear thin over time. He left OSU for an opportunity at a championship and found it at LSU. With the front office's abysmal handling of this team, it will only be a matter of time.

Front Office's inability to:

1) Draft well consistently
2) Stubbornness to adapt to new ways of today's NFL aka guaranteed money for players and closing deals which goes hand in hand in re-signing our superstar players
3)Keeping same coaching staff and not holding them accountable
4) I could go on and on...

My point is don't think Joe isn't seeing this and it will slowly build up on him to the point where he will want out and be somewhere that will give him a chance to be surrounded by a Super Bowl caliber team.

Joe was on fire today and Zac took the play calling out of his hand in OT to run three straight plays and bank on a 50+ FG. As mad as the fans are can you imagine how Joe and the other players that did their job today feel?

If you were the head coach of the Bengals?
Posted by: HarleyDog - 10-06-2024, 08:15 PM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (1)

Here's what I would do after a tough loss that was MY FAULT!

I would not address the Locker room. I would just go home. I have some thinking to do. My offense played their ass off. I let them down. What do I do to make it better? How did I fail them so badly?

Is it my coaches? Is it my trust? What am I doing wrong? Is it my PLAYCALLING? How do I make this team better?
